The Deltora Book Of Monsters (Deltora Quest)

A random whim led me to search for this novella from my youth, a bestiary from one of my favorite young adult series growing up, and what a pleasant surprise to see it available used for under ten dollars and rated in good condition! I'm happy to tell you a piece of my childhood is intact--metaphorically, if not literally--and the monstrous contents of this little tome are well worth hunting back down for some nostalgia. The actual physical quality of the book though is a bit lacking. Very beat up; definitely either incredibly loved in a past life, or incredibly uncared for in its current one. Just a heads up, Amazon condition ratings are the definition of subjective.

I've been a huge Deltora fan since I was in 7th grade and the books still fascinate and enthrall me in my teenage years. This book contains lovely artwork and yet another side to the vast Deltoran world of monsters and magic. I guess I feel like I expected a little more - more information that wasn't made clear to me in the books, more images that I hadn't already seen in a few other places, things like that. It wasn't all that I thought it would be and more, but it's beautiful and a welcome addition to my collection of Deltora things. :)

I think it is so cool that you can see the monsters of Deltora and that you can read about them too! I am just starting to read it - I am around 30 pages in - and my favorite part so far is Thegan's Children. It is so creepy and cool, and i can still remember some of their names: Hot, Tot, Pik, Snik, Fie, Fly, Jin, Jod, and Ichabod.

Though shorter than anticipated, the way this and the other books are written is just amazing . . . makes the world of Deltora just seem to come to life in your hands.

I'd read this book before but didn't have an opportunity to purchase it for myself until recently. It's short, but being an avid reader of this whole series, I enjoyed it none-the-less.

(...) (a very well read (...): I love the illustrations. They are awesome. They tell you about all of the monsters in the Deltora books. This is an awesome book!

My grandson thinks the Monster series is wonderful. He cannot wait to get the next one.

イラストは、CGのようなものではなく無く、古典的なもので、おどろおどろしさが私は好きです。人により、好みは分かれるところだと思います。絵としても子供受けは良いのですが、説明文章が多少くどいかな。。読解力としては最低でも小学校高学年程度は必要は思われます。あと、デルトラ本と違い、通常の絵本のような大判サイズですので、お間違いの無きよう。。。（特に問題はないのですが、私はてっきりデルトラ本サイズと思って注文しました。）

かっこよくて惹きこまれます。買ってよかったです。

あるモンスターがずっと忘れられなくて購入。小さい頃は説明文を全く読んでいなかったのでイラスト以外も楽しめた。買って良かった。
