Knocked Flat!
As a fan of Bobby London since his days as an Air Pirate and the creator of "Dirty Duck" back in the early 1970's it's a special treat to see two volumes of his complete and classic run as the artist and writer of Popeye in the late eighties/early ninties. Volume two features strips from 1989-1992 when London was fired from the strip after the "Baby Bluto" incident enraged a couple of priests who believed the baby was real (it was a mechanical doll) and they wanted the strip banned as they imagined Olive was going to exercise her pro-choice rights.Bobby London, is one top of his game here as his art is just like classic Sagendorf-style Popeye and as the writing is modern to the 1980's culture the art is like it was decade's earlier. All of the last three years of London's version of Popeye can be found here and also included are the never-before seen final nine weeks of the cartoon strip that King Features refused to publish back in 1992.If you like comics and want to see some great ones you need this book of wonderful Popeye strips.Five Stars

The second (and unfortunately final) volume of the great Bobby London daily Popeye strips collected in full
The second (and unfortunately final) volume of the great Bobby London daily Popeye strips collected in full. The story and art are as imaginative and fun as Thimble Theatre was with Elzie Segar, updated to reflect the early 1990s. The book concludes with the 18 strips recalled from syndication, so those of us who did not see the one Chicago paper which carried them can read how the tale ends... fading into the fourth dimension.Bobby London was the perfect writer and artist for the daily Popeye strips. Add this book to a copy of the first volume to see why.

The last Popeye material that's actually funny.
If you've been a fan of the Fleischer Popeye animation (who isn't?!) or the original Segar Popeye comics (which are genius) then you'll enjoy this fantastic collection of Bobby London's Popeye.

Blow Me Down, But This Is One Great Book!
This was a realy great book! I have long been a fan of Mr.London's art and to see it meshed with E.C. Segar's classic characters make this a feast for the eyes. It is wonderful to have this entire span collected in two volumes and the onoy downside is that I wanted to see more of his work!

Bobby London GENIUS cartoonist!
Bobby London as a cartoonist is a GENIUS! This is Popeye with balls of humor. I'm still laughing and dig his artwork the most. IDW has always had top notch graphic designers on their books. It's trippy tales as Popeye captains the BEATLES Yellow Submarine. HEY! Just buy it and float down stream with POPEYE the Sailor Man.

A Favorite!
This one is my 13 year old grandson's favorites as he's quite a connoisseur of Popeye comics. Tons of comics and a nice big sturdy book. This is the book he lugs around for travelling!
