Diy oil painting, paint by number kit- Feeling Of Maple Leaf 16 * 20 inch.

I've done lots of paint by number kits and this one is unusual because some of the spaces are left blank on the canvas. You need to look at the paper reference guide to see that the grayed areas there are supposed to be painted with the black paint (which has no number). However, these areas are not grey on the canvas. They are just white. This presents a lot of confusion because the painter is not sure where one space starts and ends. Also, the numbers are rather light so it's challenging to know what color to use. You're constantly looking back and forth to the reference guide. One idea is to paint everything in that is marked and then whatever is left over can be painted black.On the plus side: It is a nice design. The colors are very nice. There is a paper reference guide. And the paint is good quality. It covers the numbers and lines without needing a second coat (which doesn't always happen with many kits). I would recommend that the manufacturer make the paper reference guide bigger than the canvas, not smaller. I would like to say that some of the numbers on the reference guide are incorrect: the numbers on the paper often say "4" or "5" when it should say "14" or !5," etc.The canvas came folded. I use my iron with steam and a press cloth, spraying with water also, to get the wrinkles out.I would not recommend this kit for beginners. But if you like a challenge, it may work for you. I see that many of the reviewers are very disappointed with this one.

good colors but will have to really put a lot of finish up details on. But that's where the fun is!!

It came folded in a small box like a sheet of canvas which left creases in it. Not a flat matte as expected. I won't order from Diy again.

Have not had the problems with the colors as some, picture turned out beautiful and son I law loved it. Just to let all know, after mounting on stretcher bars, we wet the back of the canvas with a very wet wash cloth, let dry for about an hour or so and like magic the wrinkles and or folds are gone, mainly because the actual canvas is fabric and it will shrink as it dries, husband has done at least a dozen of this brand and this system always works. Try it you will be pleasantly surprised...

I suppose it's my fault for not paying closer attention to how this kit was put together. I had been buying some other paint-by-numbers at the same time and thought this one was probably like the others. I was SO disappointed to find a rolled up paper like canvas and nothing solid. I bought this for a gift but probably won't give it to the person. The colors look beautiful, but that papery canvas is a real turn-off.

The painting turned out beautiful. Only thing wrong, some numbers overlapped each other, so it was hard to determine when to end a color.

Was purchased for a sister living in an assisted living facility & she is quite pleased with the painting especially the size of the numbers.

Not exactly what I was expecting. Some of the paints were too dried out. For several colors there was not enough paint to do the numbered area. The thing that disappointed me the most was the colors themselves. I love the vibrant orange in the photo here, but the paints I got were more muted. The end result is more brown/purple. Still pretty, but not as pretty as the photo here.

The canvas and the picture itself are lovely but the paints aren’t usable. They’re literally like blue tack, as in you can pull the paint out of its pot and roll it into a ball... other than that the canvas would be fine.

Hope the folds come out. It came folded up.

Was surprised at size of box but realised why when opening it as it is a large canvas which had been folded. Just hope the fold lines come out during painting. Lovely picture and hope will give recreational pleasure.
