A very good book which helped my teenage daughter with the stresses of teenage life

My daughter and I are excited to read this book!

We are using Free to Be Me for a small group of seventh grade girls and their moms. I think the content is great in helping a teen girl to be secure in love with God and not seek world's approval. I do encourage mothers to go through the book with their daughter as some content is heavy.

I bought this for my daughter but read it myself before giving it to her. My husband and I were already a fans of the Eldredges, having read Captivating, Wild at Heart, Fathered by God, Beautiful Outlaw, and others. I enjoyed it and even learned from it, though of course I connected more with Captivating, it being written for adults and this one for youth. My daughter is 15 and hasn't finished the book but is currently reading and enjoying it. I would without a doubt recommend this book to any mom for her daughter.Just a few things parents might be wondering: Stasi addresses almost every topic currently relevant to teen girls, even covering in detail the different stages of menses, which was eye-opening to me, and I'm pretty informed about that stuff! She handles the subject of sex amazingly well (not going into details but referring us to books she finds complete and helpful), and she addresses sex as something sacred and gives girls real reasons for waiting. If you're familiar with Captivating, she introduces the concept of Adam and Eve taking their Question to each other instead of to God, and talks about Satan's attack on the feminine heart - both topics discussed in Captivating.Just a really good book for your teenage daughter, but parents should read it, too, and be ready to discuss.

Very insightful book, lots of encouragement & great reminders for a young womanPerfect as a gift

I bought this book for my teenage daughter. I started reading it myself and found it to be very supportive for what I have been trying to teach my daughter. That she is unique and beautiful and special just the way she is.

My two adolescent daughters are listening to this book with me as part of their required summertime activities, and I am so thankful! My oldest daughter's first comment was, "I like her voice." I knew I needed my daughters to hear this message after attending a "Captivating" retreat for women, but I knew that I was simply not going to be able to convey all that I learned to them, and that they only listen to about a quarter of what I say anyway. This was probably the best money I have ever spent.

Not meant just for youth but for women of all ages...thank you for listening to the Holy Spirit while composing this:)

Such an encouraging book, covering all topics for young women in Christ!

LOVE THIS BOOK! It's a book that not only should EVERY teenage girl read, so should their mothers, aunts and other female relatives. This book needs to be read every 5 to 10 years or so. It's a MUST!!!LOVE how the author writes - very simple and plain.

This book can apply to all women!
