A very important book about optimal healthy breathing
"This book changed my life. For the first time I became aware of what dysfunctional breathing is, and of what it does to perpetuate the occurrences of out-of-the-blue attacks of terror I have suffered from for decades. After reading Tess Graham’s book, I was so intrigued that I decided to follow her online course on breathing retraining. The book and the course present a very gentle yet powerful technique to learn how to breathe in the way we are supposed to for optimal health, and more importantly for me, to regain peace and quiet inside when anxiety and panic attacks spin out of control.I have tried many different types of therapies, but none really helped overcome the fear until now. It is striking to me that the medical profession is so far away from understanding what is healthy breathing. A myriad of professionals will tell you to breathe deeply, and train you to do so in order to calm down your nervous system. Too often, I have heard these words: “Take a deep breath”. Every single time, it worsened my symptoms, and further convinced me that I was beyond help. I had no hope of ever been free of these attacks. They were my prison and it was a life sentence.Following Tess Graham’s instructions, I was able to retrain myself to a healthier way to breathe. The wonderful part about this method is that it is gentle, it is easy to use during daily activities, and it feels really good! I have not felt this sense of inner peace in a very long time. This is what I have been looking for so long."

MY LIFE IS BACK, THIS BOOK ❤
BUY THIS BOOK!!!! I just finished Relief from Snoring and Sleep Apnea book. I am a believer. Recently, I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. I am 48 years old with a BMI of 19.4 and teach yoga and own my own studio. I absolutely refused a CPAP machine or a oral device. I had progress with side sleeping and now this book! THIS BOOK! It has only been a few days and my life is back. I slept for more than 6 hours straight last night for the first time in, I can't remember. I woke up feeling refreshed. It was amazing! I also ran this morning using nose breathing and even though I had to slow down my pace, I was still able to get my heart rate up to 130 bpm, but not feeling dizzy and gasping for air and the feeling of my lungs burning. Normally, a run for me goes like this, I would breath heavy in and out through my mouth, people walking a block away could hear me coming. I would run as hard as I could to get my heart rate up and most I could get it was 150 bpm. I am excited to see my progress each day. This is a must and I just ordered the anxiety one.

Life Changing Must Buy
My sister works at a library which had just acquired this book for its collection. I bought this together with "Close Your Mouth". It has been life-altering for me. I had tried CPAP for my sleep apnea and snoring and could not use it. After following the training (breathing) exercises in the book for 2 weeks, I no longer wake up to use the bathroom, my nasal congestion/tonsil/drainage issues have improved 80%, and I'm much less winded during exercise. I'm still seeing improvement as I progress through the exercises. As suggested in Close Your Mouth, I use a paper tape to keep my mouth closed at night, which is no problem now that my nasal congestion is gone. I no longer wake up gasping for air. To think that there is a non-invasive, natural, painless way to stop snoring and apnea makes me shocked that no one in this country (i.e. my internist or the sleep study people) is talking about this. Must buy.

Great book:-)
I just finished Tess Graham's book and loved it. I've been through the entry level Buteyko program in the US and found her book to be a much gentler and easier approach as well as full of great advice for speakers and singers. I do both public speaking and singing, and I highly recommend Tess's book if you suffer from anxiety during interviews or public speaking. Unconscious breathing habits can be a big part of the problem and Tess's book has solutions. In addition, changing my breathing pattern to the style taught in this book has helped increase my physical stamina and reduced my mild asthma to an almost nonexistent state. I can do a 45 minute spin workout at top intensity, and breathe through my nose the whole time. Same thing with a hot yoga class. It's changed my life, and improved my energy- I've got way more energy at 50 than I had in my twenties.

This book is heaven sent
Sleep apnea has robbed me of so many years of my life. I've been suffering from it since the age of 13, i'm 23 Years old now and finally feel like I have my life back. Having a consistent good nights rest, seemed far fetched in my world, until now. This book is heaven sent, it still seems surreal to me .Thank you Tess from the bottom of my heart, your book has changed my life.

Her teaching delivers. The Buyteko theory, which Tess explains here for help with snoring and sleep apnea has already taken three of my sons off Albuterol inhalers for life. And my sleep is more refreshing than it has ever been in my life.

Says in 230 pages what it could on 4 !!!
Like many of these books it goes on & on & on where all you want is the answer !! Many cross references are hard to find too ! The info is good but it could be covered in 4 pages at the most. Just google how to breath correctly !!

Useless if you don’t have somebody to monitor your breathing sounds etc.
Seems to be a lot of things that you can monitor so that you can try and change it but if you don’t have somebody to monitor it while you’re sleeping, Snoring how you breathe etc. it’s really kind of useless
