The Power of Honest Medicine: LDN, an Inexpensive Alternative to the Costly, Toxic Medications Doctors Prescribe for Autoimmune and Other Diseases

I've read 100s of health-related books and this book, "Honest Medicine," is probably THE best health-related book I have ever read. Had I read this book 3 years ago then I believe I could have saved my niece from dying of cancer at the young age of 42. Now my sister-in-law has cancer. I sent my sister-in-law a copy of this book but unfortunately, she is very skeptical about what this book has to say. That's so unfortunate because there is a great deal of valid research behind the benefits of LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) and about the benefits of intravenous ALA (Alpha Lipoid Acid), in treating cancer and I'm confident her life could be saved if she learned what this book has to say.Skeptics will frequently say, "Well, if LDN and/or intravenous ALA are really that good, then surely my doctor would already know about it. Period." But here's the sad truth--physicians and medical schools are quick to shun treatments that are not in the mainstream of medicine both out of professional bias and because of liability concerns. The very fact that they speak of "mainstream medicine" as being their guideline for treating patients is in itself an admission that they are not open to new ideas, even when there has been considerable research done on LDN in European or other countries. [That's another thing--American physicians are quick to shun information, no matter how valid, if/when it comes from a country other than the US, OR if the research has been performed by another field of study, like psychology, rather than medicine.]Read this book and you will understand what I'm saying here. The author of this book has given you a gift with which you can help the health of someone you know--someone with cancer, MS, autism, superficial infections that won't heal, etc....and you won't even know that you can help your loved one, or yourself, unless you read this book "Honest Medicine."I am NOT here to sell books--not this book or any other. I'm writing this review as a matter of responsibility because people seriously need to know what this book has to say. If you're cost-conscious, then ask your library to purchase a copy of "Honest Medicine" if they don't have a copy already.Don't sell your loved ones short. I believe my niece Joy would still be alive had I read this book 3 years ago. What's especially sad is that Joy, along with undergoing chemotherapy, was searching like crazy for alternative treatments that might help keep her alive long enough to raise her two young boys at least through high school. She tried all kinds of Chinese herbs, anything that might help her live longer.But Joy never read this book about LDN and ALA, and sadly neither had I three years ago. So find out what I'm talking about. If nothing else, read the reviews on Amazon about "Honest Medicine." The author also has a website you can go to.And look up "Low Dose Naltrexone" on youtube.com and see how much information there is about it.

Julia's and Don Schwartz's LDN book is an absolutely great and hopeful book for Autoimmune and even Cancer patients I believe. The book is great not just for all the patient accounts, but also for all other valuable LDN basic information and reference material provided. Certainly wish I had this kind of book in 2012 when I was just starting to research LDN as a treatment for my Hashimoto's autoimmune disease.

Excellent read, and I love how the author puts URLs and resources directly in the text. It was extremely helpful to have the resource information in the text instead of in the back of the book/footnote.

Anyone who has an autoimmune disease or a diagnosis of cancer needs to read this book. The information found within the pages of this book could be life changing for you. There is hope. Find out for your self how an inexpensive compound could help save your life.

Great book with lots of good information and calling out the greediness of the Medical system, specifically the pharmaceutical companies. I tried LDN, however it did not work for me, but I know it does work for many other people.

This book not only highlights the remarkable benefits of Low Dose Naltrexone and other alternative therapies but does a fantastic job of explaining in depth how autoimmune diseases can develop over time, how they affect your physical body and what the disease is really doing to your immune system. Riveting, informative, inspiring!!

What a wonderfully informative book. If you have a chronic illness or autoimmune disease you need to read this book. I found out about this book from a Facebook page and I’m so glad I did.

So much of this book is outdated and strictly anecdotal. For actual solid information look elsewhere.

I just finished reading this Julia Schopick’s book. I was dizzy. I was not sleeping enough. My doctor prescribed me this pill. I see results after only one prescription. Everyone on earth should tell their doctor to read it. This book is the solution for a healthier lifestyle.

Je recommande totalement la lecture de ce livre si vous souffrez d'une maladie auto immune ou même de n'importe quelle maladie chronique. Comme son titre l'indique vous apprendrez que la médecine allopathique honnête existe en parallèle de celle que la plupart de nous conaissons. Elle propose des alternatives efficaces aux traitements toxiques habituellement prescrits. Je ne consomme quasiment jamais de médicaments mais connaître l'existence du LDN ne peut qu'être utile, médicament peu connu par les médecins et les patients (à cause de la puissance des lobbies évidemment..)

Must read for everybody who's looking for answers convential medicine can not offer. Compelling stories from all over the world. Julia has outdone herself again, it is incredible what she has created, she makes an impact in people's lifes! How many people can say that? The world is a better place because of you!
