Great for meetings
Records my meetings perfect. Playback is clear, even with shuffling paper, you can hear speaker clearly. Will definitely be perfect for school lectures when it starts. Fits on keychain and doesn't fall off. More than enough storage.

Does the job with some issues...
Impressive to be able to record a class I was taking for the complete 8 hours. This device will split them up into 1 hour recordings. The one I have is all black and has no lights or beeps as to not be heard or even seen to make anyone aware that you are recording.Now the issues: Without having any sort of indicators showing you that you are recording you take your chances and hope that it is or you could stop the recording and plug it into your computer to make sure that it is. Could the microphone be better yes but considering the size you are not going to get high fidelity audio recordings. I would say the usable recording range of only one person talking in the room would be around 15 feet. Anything closer was great. I was able to import the sound files into Audacity and increase the amplification. Once you turn it on and then turn it off and plug it into a computer, don't do any multi-tasking with reading and writing to or from the device as you will lock it up during file transfer and corrupt the file and it will be lost. So what I had to do after finding that out the hard way was to download it all in one shot to the computer and then do whatever to the files after.

Fake
Ordered two of these. Neither did anything. Didn't record, didn't charge, nothing. Sent them both back. Did some looking and noticed they've released this same product on under several seller names and the reviews are always fake.One more thing. Look at the pictures the seller posts. One is a man with this thing attached to the belt loop of his pants. Thing is, it's the small end attached to his belt loop, which isn't possible. Not only is the item bogus, they're photoshopping the images.

Battery no good
I purchased this recorder and it took hours to charge not the 1 hour it stated in the Operation manual. Once charged if it isn't used right away (the same day) the battery is dead. I have been able to actually record only once with this recorder. The other times the battery had already died.
