Must Have for Movie Fans
WE LOVE THIS GAME! Our family and friends are all movie buffs and this is, by far, the best movie game we've found. Unlike trivia games that become somewhat obsolete once you played them a few times, this game can be new every time you play it. It's sort of a cross between dominos and Kevin Bacon's 7 degrees of separation. It is equally fun for 2 to 10 or more players, although with too many players you'll run out of table space, so either using the floor or having teams will work best. The director cards can be a challenge if you don't know who directed which films, but the game allows for you to use your turn to "trade" cards you don't know or don't feel you can connect with. This basic game is all you'll need for many hours of fun, but we loved it so much, we bought all 4 expansion packs. Admittedly some of the scene and quote cards, of which there aren't very many, are more obscure than I would have chosen, but that's about the only negative we've found. I'd also like to see more blank cards available so we can add our own names and movies. The expansion packs offer up a couple blank cards, but more would be better. There's a good range of actors that includes the likes of Al Pacino and Paul Newman to Seth Rogen and Elijah Wood, everyone can play and make connections to films that span decades. Some film cards will be for the entire franchise, like Raiders of the Lost Ark, so that offers several more connection possibilities. If you're a fan of movies, you'll love this game! When we bought the expansion packs we also bought a revolving 9 deck playing card holder which works great.

Great game for movie lovers
Update 12/13/16:After my initial review about the quality control issues I was contacted within 24 hours by someone from the company. They were incredibly professional and offered to send me a replacement copy of the game. I was really impressed with not only how nice they were, but also with the pride they take in their game. The cards are printed on good quality stock and have a nice feel to them. The game itself is really fun to play if you're into movies. It provides quite a bit of a challenge even for movie buffs like myself. The difficulty can be scaled by removing certain sets of cards from the game, so don't think that only hardcore movie nerds can play it. My wife and I have had several fun games together by removing the director set of cards.Original review:After reading all the great reviews of the game I bought a copy and was looking forward to playing a few rounds this evening. However, after opening the box I soon found that many of the cards were printed poorly. Many of the card fronts were way off center, to the point where the black border was completely cut off. A few card backs had visible registration marks from the printing process and/or white stripes along the edges. I almost kept the game since the printing errors, while annoying, wouldn't have affected game play. However after going through the remaining cards I also found one card that had a ripped edge. I'm hoping I just got a defective batch and the problems aren't wide spread. Haven't decided whether or not I'll try to order another copy.

A card game for movie snobs.
My wife and I played this last night for the first time and, while there were some fun times that we had, it wasn't what I was expecting. My wife and I are both movie buffs and we have an extensive movie collection, and even we had quite a difficult time trying to make some of the connections. We would often times get stuck and find ourselves turning to IMDB to try to find a connection somewhere. I think part of the problem is that this is less a card game for people who love movies and more a card game for movie snobs. Many more well-known and easily connected actors and directors have been left out in favor of more critically acclaimed ones. Sure you may not like movies that Adam Sandler makes, but chances are you can name quite a few people who have been in movies with him. Yet there is no card for him or people like Nicholas Cage, but instead we get cards for Rosario Dawson and Rutger Hauer. (My wife didn't know who he was even after looking him up). Instead of Michael Bay, we get Paul Thomas Anderson and Rian Johnson. I love Rian Johnson's films, but there isn't a whole lot to play from unless you happen to have a Joseph-Gordon Levitt or Bruce Willis card, not to mention that trying to play this with any casual movie fans that will have no idea who they even are. There are only a handful of movie scene cards and, of all the famous scenes throughout cinema history, we get cards for scenes like frogs falling from the sky from Magnolia. Another frustrating thing about this game is that even some of the more well-known titles in the game may have very little from which to actually play. Say someone has played a Horror genre card and so you decide to play A Nightmare On Elm Street (a movie franchise everyone knows), but that's where it stops. Unless you happen to have the one Johnny Depp card in the entire deck, then there isn't anywhere else for that branch to go. It is a famous movie franchise, but has starred very little big name actors.Overall I think this has the potential to be a very fun movie game. Six degrees of Kevin Bacon meets Dominos. At this point, however, I think it has a bit of work to do before it can become that fun game that you and your friends will actually want to play more than once. If you can name every person that has ever been in a Wes Anderson or Coen brothers movie, then maybe this is a game you will find quite enjoyable, but if you are reading this and questioning who those people even are, or are flipping over to IMDB to look them up, then you might want to skip this one.

I was very excited to find this fun movie game for my movie loving family
I was very excited to find this fun movie game for my movie loving family. But it definitely is a challenge! Obviously no one can know literally everything about movies, so my family did use our phones internet to find links and get help. Which some may consider cheating but it was still fun and allowed everyone to have equal opportunity. It's not a quick game either. It does take some time to play, and a large playing area is needed. All in all I think we all enjoyed playing it. It can be fun with the right people. The occasional movie watcher probably wouldn't care for this game. But for a group of avid movie watchers this game can be a blast.
