I have a long waist, so ties at the waist are a challenge, but this hits in a good spot and it's short but not micro short. Can be worn with tights/boots or flats - if casual, and a heel if you want to dress it up a bit (would look great with a chunky heel..). The fabric is a kind of slubby woven cotton mix - you can see the slight texture if you zoom in - not overly stretchy and not too thick - which is great. The sleeves have not-too-tight elastic at the wrists, giving a nice flowy feel to the sleeve. Allover a great little dress. I'm curvy and 5'6" bought the L and it's a perfect fit and fun - I'm buying another color now!
