UPDATE!! I wrote the first review in January, this is the beginning of April. Yesterday my pretty little lamp is no longer working after just 4 months. I think it’s a short in the cord or the switch, but either thing is very unacceptable.It will not take much to replace that little cord, or rewire it. Easy enough. I just shouldn’t have to after 4 months. It was expensive enough without spending another $7-10 for a repair.I want to lower my rating by two stars. I was being generous last time, but not now. DON’T BUY.I loved this little lamp. It had all the things I loved—soft, amber lighting, gorgeous tree of life in raised relief, and it was a great size, too. I nearly passed, though when I saw the price. But I went ahead and made the purchase because we bought a new house, and it does look beautiful there.But the problem is the construction and quality of the lamp. The round ‘moon’ part is the lightest, cheapest plastic I’ve ever seen used in a lamp this costly. The tree is beautiful, so why use that awful plastic? I don’t know... In a lamp so expensive, I expected a heavy duty glass lamp.The electrical construction isn’t very great, either. The bulb goes in, you plug it in, and you then hope it works. It may or may not. If you hold your breath while standing on one foot, with your eyes closed on a Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. it will work perfectly. Other days, not so easy. It may have a short, which would be odd. But I think the construction is just shabby.Bottom line—I wouldn’t give it as a gift, and I wouldn’t buy it again.

Received this today and was surprised that a $40 night light would be nothing more than a very light piece of plastic. Even the cord seems cheaply made. Plugged it in and it looks decent, but this should be about a $10-$15 purchase since it seems like something you would find in a discount store. Although it’s overpriced, I’ll give it three stars since it looks pretty good as a nightlight and from a distance, it gives the illusion that it’s made of ceramic & metal.

He keeps hinting for it but no way lol. Ok so I had read many reviews on this lamp and people said it was flimsy, that the plastic was cheap and the lamp was over priced. The lamp is plastic but the one I have has a thick plastic and I have no problem with it. It does not bend if I press my finger against it. I feel its over priced but I liked it so much I bought it anyway. I have it on my end table, I have had it on for a few days now and its working good. I love the glow it gives off. I do wish it was a little cheaper, I would have bought another.

I love this nightlight! It is the perfect 'autumn" touch for my office! Be aware the material is a light plastic, even though it looks like it would be heavy and substantial. Nevertheless, it fit the bill for the look I was going for and I would buy it again!

This was really pretty. When the light is on it makes the tree look like a silhouette. I do love it.
