Limited In Use
I really wanted to like these since we all need to reduce our environmental footprint, unfortunately I didn’t realize how important the description as “dessert” plates was going to be. If you are serving something without liquid that is cold, these may be perfect for you. Crucial notes are they cannot be used for hot things, warm liquids or in the microwave AT ALL. I even tried heating a slice of pie in the microwave with one and the dish severely warps or completely splits every time. ***I would only recommend these if you have a very specific serving use in mind for light items such as cake or serving dishes for things like nuts or other snacks.*** This should be emphasized in their description.

Used these for family Thanksgiving dinner
My tabletop theme for Thanksgiving was natural woods, white and grey, and I had originally been on the hunt for wood chargers to go under white porcelain dishes. These were waaaaay less expensive and looked great. I layered cloth napkins between the large and the small square plates and thought the place settings looked great - just the natural, relaxed harvest vibe I was looking for. Before dinner I tested the plates putting cranberry sauce on them for 4 hours to see if they would hold up to some of the sides, and they did! They didn't look cheap or disposable but were environmentally friendly and convenient. Loved them!! I only gave them a 4* on durability because one came out of the packaging chipped, but very attractive and great value. I would buy them again.

A Nice Touch
Im a caterer and hate using plastic trays for drop offs. I purchased these bowls and trays as an alternative to hard plastic. I like the look of them, and they work fine for dry items only. Once you put anything in that has moisture they start to become soggy and unsatble.

Appearance different than shown
I got these for a Christmas party that involved feeding 35 people in my home. We used real dishes for the entree and dessert but thought these would give guests to take a couple of hors d’oeuvres and mingle. They served their purpose but I wasn’t happy with the appearance-some looked dirty (not that they were, but odd color variations not shown when ordering).

sturdy & eco friendly!
I used these at my wedding as my aunt catered and we did not have access to a dishwasher. I didn't want plastic or even the "pretty" paper plates, & these did not disapoint ! we had a taco bar & they held up well! I also liked the shape & the palm leaves are definitely unique. I would definitely purchase again.

Beautiful and sturdy
These are beautiful plates that held up to a Thanksgiving meal. Several guests complemented them and we all felt a little wrong for throwing them out after using them! Some do have a bit of discoloration/spots. I just figure that’s a result of each one being unique (example picture included). But they were definitely not moldy as others may have experienced previously, so it seems that issue has been corrected. (I have to keep an eye out for mold at my job, so I know it when I see it!) Some people also noted a weird smell. To me they kind of smell like raisins, but it’s not strong or overpowering at all. My husband with the super nose made no comment so they can’t be that bad! They are definitely more expensive than regular disposables but if you want an environmentally friendly, sturdy, and beautiful plate for your tablescape, get these. I definitely will again in the future!

nice that they are compostable but many are unusable
I bought both the 10" square and 6" square plates for a large party that I was having. I liked that the plates are compostable and do not look like standard paper plates. They do have a nice wood look and are sturdy. There are problems, however. As noted by others, the plates have a strange smell, so you need a couple of days and a lot of space to air them out prior to using them. About 25% of the plates are streaked with grey, moldy looking stuff and cannot be used, because you could not serve food on them.

Mold on plates
Bought plates for a baby shower. Several of the plates had mold on them. Very disappointing because I ordered a few weeks back before the baby shower and these plates are pricey and I did not think to open the package and inspect the plates before the shower. We ended up having to throw away the moldy plates and not having enough for the guest

Thicker than any paper plate, & beautiful. Never use foam/paper plates again.
Go to medieval festivals/weekend events. Don't like the foam plates usually used by caterers, so got a couple of sizes of these. Environmentally friendly, nice appearance, & thick enough for almost anything. Some people think they are harder wooden plates, & these weigh nothing at all.

A good kind of disposable
I don't like disposable items whenever there are alternatives available that are less detrimental to the planet. These are both attractive (match our bamboo accents in the house) and compost-able, made without harmful chemicals, but with natural ingredients (as per the claims). They are strong and attractive and perfect for the appetizer parties we like to host. I won't use them on a daily basis, but for the holidays and all the get-togethers we have at this time of the year they have come in handy.

Good product for what we needed it for
We used these for a kids father’s day craft. A number of them came cracked- so would not recommend getting them for something liquid like cereal. Otherwise they are beautiful and worked great for our craft. And would hold up to food like sushi or something. But no soup or cereal.

Nice for disposable, with a little effort
Very cool for disposable plates. The palm has a papery feel, but they are sturdy, and actually started a conversation. We used them for thanksgiving, as we had a lot of people and needed to travel the next day. They fit the fall decor, and made cleanup easy. We composted them, but that was a guess :-)

Great!
These were great bowls for my daughter's birthday party. They look more like oval-shaped plates in the picture but we received bowls. Perfect size for pizza, cake etc. I was even able to wash them and use them for one more meal! Minimal packaging and we just thew them in the compost after. I would order again!
