Striplight 2.5watt 221mm LED Opal

I thought I would try one of these striplights as they are a direct replacement for the incandescent lights I am presently using.The lights I currently use are expensive because they fail very frequently, and, when they do fail, the glass is often cracked.The light quality of these LED lights is excellent; they are described as a 'warm white' but in reality are a lot whiter than the incandescent lights they replace. The body of the light itself is plastic so there is no need to worry about cracked glass.One thing to mention is that unlike incandescent tubes there is a front and back to these tubes: this is because the LEDs are positioned at the back and along the length of the tube and project light towards the front. In practise this is not a problem for me as they are used under kitchen wall units.I will be buying more of these lights in the future.

I bought these on the recommendation of a friend. The quality of the light on our work surfaces in the kitchen is much better than the standard strip lights gave. Also there is no heat transfer to the cupboard contents now which was always a concern. Also fitted them in the bathroom shaving lights. They are far better for shaving. Also fitted them in the bedroom mirror lights. Really pleased with the results. Will report further if I get a failure.

Our apartment had the fittings but no bulb. Measured and researched to find these bulbs and a great fit! Massive difference in light. Having used yet so cannot comment on energy efficiency but installation was easy although the bulb wasn’t a snug fit.

Expensive but gives far more light than the current bulbs and you do not have to handle them with gloves to avoid getting skin oil on the glass. Also gives far more illumination (twice as much) as the standard bulb for 2.5 watt instead of 30 watt.

Lowest possible power consumption for the light output. Replaced a 60 watt tungsten filament tube. This runs at close to room temperature so that no protective shade gauze around the tube is needed. Therefore looks brighter than the 'tungsten filament' equivalent that it replaced.

Excellent product, got rid of those old fashion power wasting bulbs at last and can look forward to long life at only 2.5 watts

Almost perfect but does not light to the ends of the glass.
