electric dreams (and nightmares)
i have all 3 of these sets of electronica, this one is maybe not quite as lo-fi as the first release 'Close To The Noise Floor' which was mainly British cassette bands from 79/81 time but it's equally as interesting and well worth buying... the only gripe i guess is that if you wanted a 4 cd set of duran duran, soft cell, spandau and the rest of mainstream early 80s songs the price would no doubt be about 4.99 as cds are pretty much worthless these days... this is pitched high at £27 and i appreciated there will have been a lot of behind the scenes work researching and sorting out licensing / ownership of the songs etc but i was left with the feeling this item is overpriced by a good £10 or so by todays prices but then i guess this cd's sales will be a few thousand at most and cherry red know that!

Fantastic trip through a unique era in underground music
Superbly selected and sequenced collection of strange early electronic music. This brings back memories of mysterious, early '80s after-midnight college radio shows baffling the airwaves with experimental songs and sounds. Some really rare stuff here that probably only existed on obscure cassettes and vinyl. A huge thank you to the people who preserved this material. It's a treasure.
