Modern Solution
Okay, what do you do when the house you just rented still has the original 1959 stove that was installed when the house was built? You try it out, and then you get a Duxtop Induction hot plate! We were tired of waiting and waiting for the old heating elements to reach temperature, so we ordered this modern solution of a two-burner induction cooktop and set it up on top of some ceramic tile. Since we had already checked our everyday cookware by seeing if a magnet would attach to the cookware and it did, we knew our pans would function with the electromagnetic elements just fine. What is important to know is that while the burners can handle a larger pan, say a 12 inch skillet, the burners will actually only heat up the smaller circle area. Do your cooking knowing this, and just move food around in the pan appropriately. For example, if frying chicken you’ll put pieces in the center, wait for them to brown up, then move them to the sides and fill the center with more pieces, that sort of thing. The whole pan will be warm, but the center will have the most heat. Also important to know is that the temperature control feature works great! No more wondering if the oil is going to be hot enough to fry stuff. Set it to your desired temp and the burners will maintain it no problem. I love the “keep warm” feature, too. It’s great for when I’m done making a skillet supper with hamburger and macaroni or something and people aren’t ready to eat yet. Best feature, of course, is the easy clean-up of just wiping away messes. Nothing is going to burn onto the top of the glass. This best feature can also be an annoying feature, however, because if you miss any bits or don’t clean off any soapy suds, it will show up and you’ll need to go over it again with a soft, dry cloth. Not a drawback, just something to know if you have a mother-in-law coming over for inspection.Overall, this is a great product that offers instant satisfaction. It’s also portable, so if you’re RV camping and have an electric outlet to use as part of the hook-up, you can cook on your Duxtop. Or say you’re needing an extra burner for Thanksgiving or something. Works great for that. As a reminder, it is a 3-prong plug, so be sure you have that kind of outlet available. Nice product.

Long lasting, very useful
A little loud but it’s expected since it so compact. Very nice surface, it’s easy to clean, make sure to unplug it first to avoid turning it on. For safety when you do turn it on, it detects if it has a pan on it and won’t heat until you select a heat level and a place a pan on it. It warms up fast and I am very satisfied with it, it’s lasted a long time now. I’ve had it for almost a year and it’s very useful. I’ve made while meals on it as I don’t have a proper stove but this helps since I have a small kitchen.Update after a few years:Still holds up nice! Works well, no issues at all, cleaning is easy. I do have a few stains on mine, probably due to cooking oil that got burned through use, and it's gotten sticky. That's on me for not cleaning it as often. Also expect to clean the fans underneath every now and then as they go tend to catch lint and gunk on them. When wearing noise cancelling headphones, the sound it makes causes a strange tinitus like sound into my earpieces. It could be nose cancelling doesn't work too well on the induction fans.Anyway, it's worth the investment, I've cooked on it everyday since buying it and plan to keep doing so.

Thrilled with our portable induction cooktop! Can use for camping and for emergencies too!
We purchased this two-burner induction cooktop in November of 2023 when our gas range stopped working safely and was leaking! We have used it for almost a year now and it's so convenient and easy to use, we forget that it was supposed to be a trial to see if we wanted to get an induction range to replace the smelly gas one. I can't imagine going back to gas now. We even had our contractors take out the gas line when we installed a heat pump system recently since we have no interest in going back to gas at all! This induction cooktop worked fine with all of our stainless steel pots and pans. A quick way to check is if a magnet sticks to the bottom of your pan it will work with induction! The only drawback I found is that it sometimes makes a weird noise on high heat, but we quickly got used to it and learned which pans work best for which applications.Highly recommend this product for anyone who wants a portable cooktop or is curious about induction.

So far so good
I am thinking about getting a full size inductive cooktop for a kitchen remodel. I thought trying this portable unit to get a feel for that first was a good idea. Plus I can use this version for camping outdoor cooking etc. The manual that comes with didn’t tell you how to cook with it. Eg what temperatures for what items. The manual is pertaining to stove operation. That said, I’ve been experimenting. It’s much more responsive than regular electric cooktop stoves and similar to gas where you can adjust heat level quickly. I love the cool to the touch safety feature. It’s easy to clean. It’s larger than I thought. It had a quick button for plain boiling. It did take longer for water to boil than I expected. I will say all in all I am ready to take the plunge in a full size built in inductive cooktop.

This worked amazing for kitchen remodel
I did my research and bought this for the reviews. We tore out our kitchen and it was a 3 month project with no stove. This beauty handled every cooking task we threw at it! Because we had a temporary kitchen in the basement utility room, this was super safe as the burners never got hot to the touch. do to inductive heat. The water boiled fast for pasta. We had both burners going and had no issue with circuit breakers using a standard 110v wall power outlet. The glass top was easy to wipe off after cooking making cleanup a breeze in a less than desirable location. This really made what we thought was going to be a miserable experience much much better. I recommend this cooktop whether your remodeling or just looking for a cooktop to use daily. We had zero issues and were happy!
