Light cascades up more than out.
After one full day of sunlight to charge the lights are a very nice accent to the driveway and walkway. The light cascades up more than out like a traditional accent light but it does provide a very nice outline in the dark to easily follow the sidewalk. So far a very nice addition to the hardscape!

12 Pack - Bright, Cool White, Solar Disk Lights made of Metal vs. Plastic
My 1st time buying Solar Disk Lights & I finally charged them up. So far, these appear 2 b bright for only 8 tiny Lights around the Disk. However, all were charged up at the same time (in the same spot/sunlight) for 3 days b4 moving to their final Locations. Yet, 3 of the Disks r still Brighter than the rest of them. Maybe the other Disk Lights will eventually catch up on Brightness? These Disks r made of Metal/Stainless Steel vs. plastic & seem sturdy. One Disk came w/a small, Dent/Crease on the Metal; two Other Disks came w/an area of Screatches/Dark marks on the Metal; but those Defects shld not affect their performance so I didn't return. The rest of the Disk Lights looked fine. The Base Prongs that lock on the bottom of each Disk r made of Plastic, though, & require some quick assembly b4 pushing in the ground. The plastic is a bit flexible, so ensure the two Prong pieces follow the grooves when connecting to each other. Then, securely push the 4 Prong tips into the bottom of each Disk Light b4 placing in the ground. Tip: ensure ur ground area is soft, wet, or slightly pre-dug, so ur Prong Base goes into the ground easily--w/out breaking--cuz they don't send U any extras. What I don't think I'll like about Disk Lights is that they only show Light on each Disk--not really any light reflects outward or around the outside areas of the Disk. Only time will tell how long these Disk Lights will last, or if moisture/water will get inside & ruin them. All in all, they appear 2 b a Quality Product at this time!

Last One Year
All the criticisms are valid, but if you want this type of solar light there is really nothing else available.I love how they light up my front yard for a few hours every night. Now that they are 1 year old, only 5 still work. But I am going to order another set because I don't see any good alternative.

these look very nice but the battery will not last over time
About 6 months ago I purchased solar disk lights from Vintar, Loren, and Sunco. After 6 months of use through the summer and into almost winter I can say that the Vintars are the clear winner.Sunco - in the beginning these lights looked great and stayed on all night in the summer. After a short time I noticed the battery life lasting earlier into the night and now that it's close to winter they hardly stay on at all. When they do work I probably like the light these give off the best out of all of them because it's a bright white but the battery life after a few weeks is a drawback. I'm also not crazy about the chrome look since I have these sitting in black mulch. I'd prefer black lights for my setting.Loren - the story with these is very similar to the Sunco's except the major difference with these is that the light is more yellow than white. I prefer the light of the Sunco's over the Loren's, but the Loren's have a slightly better battery life.Vintar - these lights have by far the best battery life. They stay on the entire night from sunset to sunrise, even in November when the days are short. I've had these for 6 months and they still work great. The light on these has a blue tint, but it's not as blue in person as the pictures show. The blue is nice, but depending on your setting you may want a bright white instead. For my shed and garden area I wish they made these without the blue tint but for my pond that I'm building the blue tint will be great. I love these lights and recommend them over the other brands that I tried.

IF they work and stay bright, they’re great, otherwise they’re useless
I bought these to add some lighting user a giant spider I made for Halloween. They worked pretty well for the first couple weeks and that made me like them so much I ordered 2 more sets. Not long after I got the extra sets and put them out, lights from the original set started dimming or going out entirely. I submitted a warranty claim to the maker and they eventually got around to sending me 5 replacements for the 5 that had gone out entirely or dimmed to the point they weren’t visible from the street anymore. That warrant turn around was at least 2wks even though they responded within 24hrs that they’d send the replacements. Anyway, got the replacements and put ‘em out with the rest, and even some of the replacements are going dim and one is entirely out. These things are installed and in areas that the ad says they’re acceptable in. No one walks over them and the lawn crew doesn’t mow over them, they just kinda suck.Even if the lights going dim or out entirely wasn’t an issue, there’s another problem with these things, and that’s the mechanism/design that’s used to manage the stakes attach to the underside of the light. Basically 4 little prongs get pushed into 4 little prong sized holes on the underside of the light. You’d be hard pressed to find a single one of these lights in my yard that doesn’t have AT LEAST one of those prongs just entirely sheared off and forever stuck into the prong hole, meaning they no longer sit perfectly flat on the ground. Several gave 2 broken off and permanently stuck. When I got these lights, I LOVED them. I loved how modern and bright they made my drive and back yard look and I raced about them to friends. Unfortunately, they’re just not made very well. If I could get my money back for all the sets I own, I would, but unfortunately only one set it returnable at this point, so I guess I’ll take it. Definitely skip these.

Replace every 3-4 months
Here in California these lights can’t withstand the heat during the summer and rain during the winter. This had lead me to having to replace them quite frequently. My front yard gets sunlight ALL DAY during the summer but these will only stay on all night for the first couple of months then it’ll only stay on for a couple of hours a night as the months go on. They are sleek and low profile which also works for my backyard since my dogs don’t trip on them. If you’re okay with replacing them every 3-4 months then these are for you. If you want to save money long term, it’s probably worth spending more at HD, Lowes, or Costco for something more durable.

Good and Not good
Brightness is good but installation is not good. The spikes are very thin. Trying to install in ground and spikes won’t go straight in ground. If you put little pressure, it damages the bottom part.
