Excellent for marking areas or lanes on carpet, but expensive.
Perfect for semi-permanently marking lanes or areas on carpet.We use it to mark the emergency escape route through the store room so people don't block it.This is much thicker and heavier duty than normal marking tape.Since it sticks to the carpet with Velcro, it does not 'creep' to different positions if you bump it.Also, you should be able to remove and reuse it without leaving marks or discoloration.(But if you leave it in place for years, I expect that the rest of the carpet would fade or discolor, making the marked areas visible if the tape is removed.)The two downsides are 1) Cost and 2) It sticks up about 1/16 inch above the carpet, which may or may not be a problem depending on how you use the area.Update: Still working great after 1 year.

not sticking...
Doesn't actually cling to the rug... and the top is an unwieldy plastic - different from other velcro backed tapes.
