I anticipated taking these trays out of the freezer, flipping them over, flexing them and having the ice cubes pop out. Not the case at all. Even after leaving them out on the counter for 10 minutes to warm slightly, and then attempting to eject the cubes, it was still difficult and leaves your fingers frozen. As mentioned by others, the lids work more as a base for the pre-frozen trays to prevent spillage, rather than to cover them prior to freezing. The silicone is thick, and would appear to be durable over many uses, but you practically have to eject each cube with your thumb, particularly those along the edges (which is the majority) and after about 30 seconds, you wonder whether the cheap somewhat hard plastic trays aren't a better choice, even if they only last a year or so. Those you could twist and the cubes popped out.

I probably wouldn't bought these if I didn't have amazon gift cards still from Christmas, but these are super nice ice cube trays. I like how many they make, I like how easily they stack (lids!!!, also useful for keeping them straight as you transport them from sink to freezer), I like how they make larger ice cubes than I expected, I like how easy it is to pop them all out at once if you just bend backwards, and I like how they take up less room in the freezer comparatively to the two cheap plastic ice cube trays I had before.I wouldn't say they were super easy to clean, because I wanted to be careful not to be too rough with the thin parts that separate the squares, but that's very minimal to me compared to everything else I like.Overall, definitely worth the price, especially if you're tried of breaking the hard plastic trays.

I most like how the trays make efficient use of space by their design, which has very little air space between the cube compartments. I wish the trays were designed with the dividers between cubes having depressions that would allow tilting the filled tray to distribute water evenly. On one occasion the tray froze to the freezer - not sure why, but it was a pain to get the tray out of the freezer. I like how the cubes can be pushed out into a glass one-at-a-time.

Very nice Ice cube tray! Did not have any smell when I received it but I still washed it before using it. Only con would be that it does take a little bit longer for water to turn into ice if you have the lid on it but that doesn’t bother me. I just put the lid on them after they are frozen and stack them like that. Or if I’m really tight on space I just put the lid on and just wait overnight because don’t exactly want to measure how long it takes.

I really don’t think you understand how happy these ice trays make me. There is no weird smell, no weird film, easy to clean, comes out easy and I love that it has a cover.Make sure to leave like a centimeter at the top when filling up the tray to allow room for the ice to expand and you can get it out easier.I cannot say enough things about this ice tray. Buy it now!

First time using non-metallic trays. Had difficulty on first batch getting cubes out. Ended up running warm water over bottom as others mentioned. Problem is that makes the bottom of the cubes wet so they freeze together when you store them in a bin. From second batch on they apparently got "broken in" and now have no trouble ejecting the cubes by just bending the tray backwards length-wise, and sideways, and pushing in the flexible bottoms for any stragglers. Lids worked fine contrary to some other reviews. You simply pinch together along the sides of the tray to seal it properly. Also like the neutral gray color vs. the pink and blue varieties, and the cubes have smooth round corners. Very satisfied.

I feel a little silly giving 5 stars to ice cube trays, it's not like the wheel was reinvented here.. but damn, I really like these. Easy to pop the cubes out, the lids fit well (Not tight enough that you could lay your tray at some weird angle with no leakage.. the lids seem to keep freezer smells out of the ice and let you stack the trays nicely), and the quality is great. If you want silicone trays, I recommend.

Great ice cube tray with silicone tray. Easy to pop out the ice cubes and a lid so you could stack another tray on top. That is handy to keep other frozens like meat or ice gunk from getting into your frozen drinkables ( these ice cubes). Comes in a 2 pack with many medium sized ice cubes. A great product I was always looking for instead of a portable ice machine. I can just buy 2 more trays and have plenty of ice all season long.
