For the cost, this is a fine product. There are issues we have with it though. The first one we received fried its power switch the first time we turned it on, blowing our circuit breaker in the process. It was replaced, no questions asked, so we were pleased with that. The replacement works just fine. In the first (blown) one, the wire handle was formed incorrectly, so that it was lopsided. We thought at first it was our fault, but on closer inspection it was clear the wire had been cut and formed incorrectly in the first place. The replacement unit's wire handle is correct - no longer lopsided. In both cases the product shipping packaging was not great - the bags holding the bits and pieces were not sealed correctly, so they were rattling about in the box. We ended up short a screw or two, but no harm as we had others in our home supplies that worked anyway. As for the assembly - the instructions are not the best, but they can be worked out with patience. The plastic stand works well enough - but the feet are not a great design. They do not snap into place on the base; instead they have to be initially fit, and then pounded into place with a mallet. Disassembly would be a real problem - we could not disassemble it for the return shipment of the defective unit, and ended up having to buy a larger box to ship back. Insult to injury. Equally bad is that the assembly with simple screws and closed-end nuts and wing nuts lacks locking washers. These will eventually work loose randomly, so we will have to install locking washers for ourselves. So, for the money, this is a fine unit - but it can benefit from some attention to minor details.

This heater is pretty much what I was looking for although it feels a little fragile. The remote that came with it didn’t work but when I was finally able to get in touch with the Sundate Direct customer service department—the outlook.com email address in the product description got absolutely no response from them—they sent a working remote promptly. The heater is lightweight enough that I can easily pick it up and move it and the three heat settings and the timer all work well. I bought the model that comes with an adjustable stand and one detail that is bothersome is that the heater aims straight ahead and there is no way to angle it down. That means that even with the stand at its lowest height, only my head and shoulders are warmed if I am sitting down. I should mention that I have used it only twice so far so I am not sure how long it will hold up.

I love that this heater is weatherproof! My husband loves it and uses it every morning as he sits on the porch to smoke. It really is just a one person heater because you need to sit right under it to feel the warmth. The remote is ok but it doesn’t work unless it’s very close to the unit, so you have to go outside to turn it on anyway!!

The heater arrived with broken plastic cord holders. There are 2 that fit over the upper and lower pols. Amazon tried to contact the seller to replace them with no luck. The instruction book (very limited) says to install 2 AAA batteries in the remote control, it has 1 flat battery. As is said "the devil is in the details" so quality control and up dating the brochure would help.

Came cracked on the side. Had to return. Let's see how the next one comes.UpdateGot return. Came in disturbed. The directions to construct are awful. You need to have a good eye and common sense to put together. Other than that, good product for heat; just don’t expect it to work well during windy conditions.

This 83 year old senior loves fancy cigars. But my wife and doctors forbid smoking in the house. Now I go on the patio in 20 degrees, bundle up with a heavy coat and hand warmer, hit the Sundate wonderful remote, sit a few feet in front of my infrared, light up and rise to heaven. Believe me you cigar smokers this product is akin to a jet to Miami. The air is super warm and wonderful. Love it. Seniors take notice, light outside in the middle of winter - no second hand smoke and love your Sundate. Grab it!

Product serves its purpose and heats well (only tested it one day so can't speak to extended use). However, product came very poorly packaged with 2 of the 4 feet broken and several loose screws in the box, I'm surprised the heating element didn't break with all the loose nuts and bolts.

I use my heater in my barn , mine was missing a couple screws for assembly. Otherwise I’m happy with the heat output
