SPIGHTDEX Bluetooth LED Strip Light Controller, RGB CCT DIM Smart Wireless Remote Multifunction Receiver for Android and iOS App

I use this as an app controlled dimmer for 24v warm lights in my living room. That being said, you have to understand what you’re getting here. I already had the POWER SUPPLY and LED strip wired to an existing on/off switch before this purchase. I was looking for a simple way to add dimming and control from my phone without necessarily needing WiFi. This controller can connect via Bluetooth as well. It helps that’s it’s expandable and can control RGBW type leds it I ever wanted to do that. I’ve had zero issues so far with almost daily use. I leave the app open on my tablet for anyone to use if need be. I only leave off 1 star because of the physical quality of the unit.. thin plastic. Not a dealbreaker in hidden electronics to me but notable. Sent with double side tape for mounting, not 3M branded though. Would buy again at same price.

This seemed very nice but it does not work with my application because of the internal way it dims the Led's.

I picked this before all the details were available so I didn't know about the lack of a power supply. I had expected this to be something that would be powered by the same thing the USB strips were powered by. And if they REALLY wanted to make this useful, let it use the same plugs as well, both for power, and then for the actual LED strips.Most strips aren't that convenient to cut and try to deal with your own wires to get into the unit here. And I have no patience for things like this that don't include what is needed for it to function.Either sell everything required for operation, or sell something else.

In order to use this device, you need an app on your smartphone and you need to have a power cord. None is included. Thought maybe we are supposed to use the power from the LED lights, but then you would not have power to them. I will have to have my husband look at this to see if he can get it to work.

Perhaps we can roll this into the 'you're an idiot' category for me, but it was not working when I had it set up. I installed it as directed, and the app recognized it, but the lights just would not turn on. It's very possible that there is just some problem with the light strip I purchased, but I bought four of them and none worked. But there was very little information on the compatibility of lights, so It's possible I got the wrong ones.I'm giving it an extra star just because the app is easy to use and set up.
