More than concepts...
The labs in this manual are phenomenal. The information is very informative and the explanations really make you think. You not only become familiar with the topics and vital commands, you really are learning the concepts and how they work in real life. I have been able to transfer this knowledge to my work environment (non-Cisco equipment), as well. Thank you!!

It will challenge you!
This is a great lab manual! I recommend this to all CCNP candidates. This manual is far more difficult than what you will see on the exam but it will prepare you really well for the real world as well as the CCNP exams. It does have a few mistakes here and there but it's not enough to throw you off. I bought this for CCNP Tshoot exam, but at the time could not find the broken configs. I would definitely ask the authors of this book to please provide them without having to ask. I passed my CCNP nonetheless just doing the rest of the labs that are in this manual.

Missing configurations
I give two stars only because I knew that the configurations would be missing when I bought the book. So far I like the labs but I can't really give more when 1/7 of the book is unuseable. I've written to howtonetwork and I'll increase the rating if all the labs become availableThe site answered pretty fast with the configurations. Still, I can't give a high rating to an unfinished book, especially when it is an electronic one (it should be pretty easy to fix).

Good for Price
I purchased the Kindle edition and was happy for the price I paid. There are some errors but figuring out the labs and getting CLI repetition is priceless. There are also some more advanced features in the lab which really help re-enforce the concept. I have not tried to TSHOOT labs but knowing I need to request them in advance is very helpful.

great book for those who want to understand not just pass the exam
Unlike most books this one goes beyond of what you will need to pass the cert exam but really makes you think about your solutions. If you just want to pass the exam then this is not the book to take because most of the labs are too advanced. On the other hand, if you wish to become true professional then this is exactly what you need.

Only the best from Browning and Tafa.
These types of lab books are difficult to find, the one's where they give you an objective to accomplish and it's your job to 1) already know or 2) figure it out on your own. Yeah there is the cheat sheet at the end of each lab, but who need that?Notice: If you want the configurations for the troubleshooting labs in order for you to just paste the config into your rack and troubleshoot on your own, you can go to howtonetwork.net and click on the helpdesk link. Then just write to them requesting a copy of the "broken" configurations and they will send them to you.Good luck and remember; be strong, be determined, be cisco.

Good labs to practice with and a lot to play ...
Good labs to practice with and a lot to play with. It gives you a good base line and then you can have fun modifying them to your own labs to get more experience.

Broken test configs need to be acquired from the author.
1. The book is good, up to a certain extent.2. Configuration files are required to practice troubleshoot tests that are mentioned in the book. Without those configurations that can be loaded onto home racks, the troubleshoot section is practically useless.3. I was under the impression that the configurations could be requested from the parent site - howtonetwork.com.4. I have sent three mails to them within the past week, after I purchased the book, requesting the configurations.5. I have not received any response so far.6. So, my view is, before anyone purchases this book, get an assurance from howtonetwork.com that they will provide the supporting material, which should have been included in the book in the first place.Update:1. I received a mail from the author along with the required configuration files.2. He did mention that he "checked the mail once a week", thereby explaining the delay.3. I do appreciate receiving the configuration files, however it would have been better if the procedure to acquire them & the expected time for delivery, is included as a footnote within the book.4. Except for the above experience of living with uncertainty regarding usability of a very important troubleshoot section, the book is very good & fulfills a very crucial part in CCNP preparation.
