Mastering the Theremin and Clara Rockmore the World's Greatest Theremin Virtuosa

Mastering the Theremin is a great, informative video with easy lessons by the Theremin player Lydia Kavina. Excellent videos of Clara Rockmore and her love for the instrument is inspiring. If you are looking for something easy going and loaded with information, this video is a great start. If you are a master of the Theremin, and most of us aren't, then buy something else.

Totally misleading. There is very little on Theremin playing. Certainly nothing in the way of lessons. This is a few old videos of Clara ttalking about her history, a little about the operations of a theremin, chatting with friends, and performance. What is sorely missing is any explanation of her actual right hand note making and intonation technique. Do not expect to get information that you can use to learn to play. Mastering The Theremin? This should be called Clara Rockmore and the Theremin Story. A nice bit of viewing for the enthusiast or historian,but NOT an instructional video.

This is a great DVD that teaches you how to master the Theremin with virtuoso Lydia Kavina who is theremin inventor Leonid Thermin's great grandaughter I think. Maybe I'm wrong, but I know she's a close relative. Well, it's been a while since we shot it. I was the Director of Photography and William Olsen directed. You'll love it!
