Claus Porto Favorito Bar Soap, Red Poppy, 12.4 oz

My much coveted first bar of Claus Porto arrived today. With high anticipation I tore into the packaging and pulled out the boxed soap. The packaging was sublime. The poppy print is spectacular; the red so lively and vivid. Then came the scent. Strong enough to be noticed but not overpowering. Clean. Crisp. Fresh. So fresh. Slight floral and berry notes but with some woodsy undertones, making it a unisex scent.With that heady scent in my head and carefully opened the box and pulled out the hefty bar of soap. It was wrapped in a parchment paper and as I slowly undid the folds of the heavy paper, I pictured the employee at Claus Porto hand wrapping this very bar of soap. The realness of the imagery is so much more than I can bet into here; suffice it to say it was somewhat magical.As the soap became visible, I noted the lovely color of the soap. Not red or pink or burgundy but somewhere in between all of those. And it was fully uniform throughout the entire soap, or what I could see if it without cutting it open. To even think of cutting into this exquisite bar feels like heresy!As I admired the beautiful embossing of the Claus Porto brand, I slowly reached out to lift the bar out of the paper. As my fingers grazed the surface of the soap, I marveled at its velvety soft smoothness. Sensually silky. I finally wrapped my hand around the bar and picked it up, holding it closer to my face to bask in the scent.The bar was heavy. Solid. Felt like it would last forever. Its shape was a slightly domed oval that sat comfortably in my palm, despite its massive size. This is a really big bar of soap. Just over 12 oz.Ahhh... this soap makes me want to go shower just to experience it.Only four stars as I’ve not yet tried the soap. Will update once I’ve actually used it. If that experience is even half as good as the unboxing, then I’m in for a real treat.

I've been buying this soap for years now and each bar last a month plus. Though it seems expensive at first purchase it last a long time and the quality and scent is worth it. Splurge upfront for long term results. So worth it. It is getting hard to find as the years go buy so I hope they continue to make Red Poppy.

My favorite soap of all time. The Claus Porto soap range is awesome but this classic scent is my favorite.

be careful because it will make the tub very slick under foot, but makes skin really smooth and has a lovely aroma; there's a reason it commands this price and has been around for decades

I give this as a gift for my daughter. She loves it.

Mine did not come in the tin packaging which was a huge letdown. Came wrapped in paper. Honestly, the only reason I bought it was for the tin.

I contacted seller many times but no reply. I have shopped with the for this same expensive and wonderful soap for many years but this time it was defective and smelled very badly. It was also sticky and soft. I contacted seller at least three times but they did not reply or replace this damaged island. It was so bad I finally threw it away. I don't know if it was the pandemic or bad storage etc. but i had no reply to at least 4 complaints. I then had to go into hospital for surgery and now it has been too long to file a complaint with paypal or amazon, but all buyers should check this wonderful brand I have used for years before they use it and make sure this seller replies right away. this was birthday present for my husband so it was even more stressful. this is a famous and much loved brand so it is even more upsetting this buyer sold an imitation or a damaged product. I will not shop here again.
