Q: Ok, This is probably a dumb question, How would you know what psi to test different size air to air coolers?

Actually a great question! Just to clarify, this kit has one of each size so if your cooler has the same diameter on both sides then youll need another cap and silicone coupler for the other end. (we do have a charge air cooler specific kit - search "Turbo Boost Leak Testers CAC kit CAC4353") However with this kit you can test from turbo inlet all the way through to the motor. Basically all of the normally pressurized parts of the turbo system. There is not need to cap the otjer end, just choose the size you need, install it on the turbo inlet and pressurize. Now to the question you asked about how much pressure? There are 2 main things to look at when pressure testing, 1. the size of the flange your testing on and 2. the leak down rate. 1. smaller flanges 4" and below can be pressurized to 25psi safely. Above 4" and its recommended to stay below 15psi for safety from risk of the tester from popping off the flange. 2. The leak down rate - its to see how well the system holds pressure when you trap the air in tje system. This can be done with 15 psi with good results. Q: How to you regulate the shop air pressure

The tire valve stem makes it convenient to fill, similar to filling a tire with air. Just keep an eye on the boost gauge on the boost leak tester. Doesnt matter what shop air is, what the boost gauge reads is whats actually in the charge pipes.
