If you still have a Fairmont, this will help you work on it when you have the need.
This isn't the be all end all manual like Bentley makes (not that they make one for these anyway), but it's good for what it is. Not the most complex of cars, it'll still help you work on them, and you will, they're not getting any younger. I've always tended to get more into from the Haynes manuals over the Chiltons but neither will match a Bentley when put together, if it's offered for your ride.For basic upkeep/repairs this is about as good as you're going to find but being a Fairmont IS a fox body, you might find something better out there. I can say I've found it to be very useful.

Not bad, but you could expect better
Ford Fairmont & Mercury Zephyr '78'83 (Haynes Manuals) This is a typical repair manual, and most that are interested in these books already know what to expect. I found that so far the two things I needed it most for recently - I didn't get the needed information I saught for. I needed to replace the A/C condenser and the alternator, and neither went into detail nor had good clear illustrations step by step or pictures (the A/C information was mostly in reference to not about repairing).It will serve most just fine but I feel that more could have been done to make this less of a challenge to use.
