Excellent book
Bought this as a gift for my father's 90th birthday. Arrived in perfect condition (it was used) and on time. It was just what I had hoped - a book full of pictoral delights for my father who grew up in London - so no heavy reading but very interesting for him.very happy with product and seller.

A fascinating book with some exceptional pictures
I'd describe this as a very nice little coffee-table book; full of interesting pictures and fascinating information - easy to pick up and put down when you have a spare ten minutes. Although it would make an acceptable gift for almost everyone, I'd say it's of particular interest to people of my generation (post WW2 - just!)

Did nothing happen during the missing years??
It's a great pity that a book that contains as many photographs as this does and covers such a long period of time has so many years "missing" or shall I say photo-less.This unfortunately somewhatundermines its' title claiming to be "100 years of LONDON, 20th Century in Pictures". The years concerned are at a glance 1960,61,68,70,87-89,92,94,96 after which I stopped checking. The photographs that ARE in the book are excellent and the majority of them I haven't seen before and I have quite a large collection of similar books and over a hundred on Photojournalism. This book contains for example photos of Keir Hardie with Emmeline Pankhurst, the original Old Curiosity Shop,a mobile greengrocer in 1929,the poor kids in Canning Town in 1931,a 1932 view of Oxford St, the Scales of Justice being cleaned, kids paddling in the Thames at Greenwich and 100s of others. All in all an excellent book but minus 1 star for its obvious missing bits!

A perfect coffee table talking point
My Daughter who lives in Alaska bought this book at one of the London Museums, I was so impressed I bought 3 from Amazon for a lot less than she paid. I took one to my ex business partner now living in New Zealand as a reminder of what he had left behind. It would make a super Xmas/birthday present for the person "who has everything".

Nice memorable photos
The size is too small. Photos are good by tiny. We should have the larger virgin of a4 or larger

Clear pictures. Good size.
Bought for a relative suffering from recently diagnosed dementia. Coming from London the photos helped to stimulate memories. The book is small enough to handle easily but big enough pictures to view easily
