Gideon: It's Play Time, Not Naptime! (Gossie & Friends)

My sweet little grandson loves books. I bought him his first Gossie board book at a thrift store in Alaska. He fell in love with the characters. The books have pictures of other Gossie books on the backs. So we are in the process of collecting them all! I send him 3 each month and have them delivered to him. He video chats me and I read them to him. These little books help us stay close since they moved from Oklahoma to Alaska last year.

So so cute! We just love the name Gideon. Can’t wait to give it to our new grandson for Christmas.

My daughters favorite books are the Gossie & Friends series. Gideon does not disappoint! It is an adorable book about a sweet little gosling that doesn't want to take a nap, even though his mother keeps telling him it's time for a nap. My 2 year old knows the phrase Gideon repeats to his mom and it is so cute: "No nap! I'm playing!"Olivier Dunrea knew what he was doing when he wrote this series. The illustrations in every book are perfect for young eyes and the board book format is durable and great for little hands. We highly recommend!

These books by Olivier Dunrea are adorable, well priced and quick reads for squirmy little ones! I have several (all purchased thru Amazon) and I highly recommend them!

This book is wonderful! As are the rest of the books in this series. I read them to my grandson who is 18 months old and the story and pictures hold his interest so much that he is now saying a word or two along with me. A great series of books to help little ones begin to read! eg. Gossie, BooBoo, Gossie and Gertie etc. All excellent books!!!!!!!!!

We have the Gossie book and love it, so I was excited to buy the Gideon book too. I’m so bummed that the main storyline is a mama who tells her gosling that it’s naptime, and his response is to essentially talk back to her, saying that he wants to play and not nap. He doesn’t obey her command to return home for naptime, but he instead continues playing. Since this book is intended for toddlers who are learning to test boundaries and have no need for examples on how to disobey parents, I’m disappointed that the storyline wasn’t different. While the illustrations are cute, I’d rather spend time reading more positive examples to my toddler.

Such an adorable book. It says it’s for new readers... but there are a lot of larger words a kindergartener wouldn’t be able to sound out. We still like it though

We bought this book for our son to give to our newest baby (Gideon). The book is very cute and we love it and "big brother" loves sitting and "reading" it to his little brother. We bought it not knowing much but knew we wouldn't find "Gideon" written on a lot of things for our son. Would recommend this to anyone.

Gédéon est un des nombreux oisons d'Oliver Dunrea. Sa particularité, ils en ont tous une, est de ne pas vouloir aller à la sieste car il préfère jouer...Construit comme les autres avec des dessins épurés et des phrases très courtes telles une comptine, il charme autant les enfants que les parents pour son humour toujours un brin décalé, so british... (même si l'auteur est américain !).

Gideon is a favourite with my two year old twins. This book is so cute!
