If you’ve got to have pet stairs in your family / living room, these look very nice, like real wooden furniture. (They also make a nice occasional footrest!) (They also hurt like hell when you bang your shin into them!) They’re very sturdy and heavy enough that they stay in place on a low-pile area rug. We previously bought some other steps (still available on Amazon) that were essentially shag carpet over soft foam, and they would occasionally fall over when my late geriatric dog would use them, so sturdiness was important to me.The no-nap “carpet” on the stairs’ treads has a feel that’s kind of like soft sandpaper which prevents pets from slipping. Try to keep your cat from barfing on it, though, as it’s not designed for easy clean-up.I measured the height of my couch cushions before purchasing, so my dog just walks from the top step right onto the couch. She has patellar luxation (her kneecap slides off to the side) and these stairs help minimize excess jumping and overuse of her gimpy leg.My one issue, which is no fault of the manufacturer or the stairs themselves, is that the the treads aren’t at all deep, and my dog trips half the time she goes down the stairs because her downhill stride is too long. She’s a medium-sized chihuahua, like 11 pounds, so this issue wasn’t even on my radar to consider when comparing various stairs.I looked obsessively at all the pet stairs on Amazon that were 4+ stars and prime-eligible. Spent probably an hour or more reading everyone’s reviews. And still we have issues I couldn’t have foreseen. So while I’m (mostly) happy with these stairs, I suggest you do your homework before making your final decision. Happy shopping!

I will admit that I was not planning on spending $72 on pet stairs, but I will say that these are way nicer than the original one that I bought from petsmart. Well worth the price and my 18 yr old cat took to using them instantly. It did take a couple times to get the rise of the stair treads to sit right, but eventually got them in. You can put them together with a simple screw driver, but using a power screw driver made it much faster. I would definitely buy them again.

One star off for the hard to clean stair tread felt which is getting fuzzy after a couple weeks. Otherwise great, even my 40lb bulldog uses them now, and he wouldn't use the wider plastic stairs for some reason.

They were easy to put together a bit shorter than I would have liked, but the style is just what I wanted. I have a tall bed but it will work

my cat is 19 years old and needs a little help getting on the bed. With these steps she can walk right up on it. She loves the steps and so do i. They are very nice looking and fit right in with the décor.

Not for large pets!

Easy to build. They look nice. Not super sturdy but work for a dog.

Great for puppy! Small breeds. Stair treads a bit small for medium and larger dogs they refuse to use.
