Love the speaker, love the functionality, and the fit and finish are superior
First of all, it is important to acknowledge that since you are looking at a single speaker, sound quality isn't your highest goal. A pair of high-end speakers will almost always give you a fuller sound experience. This speaker, and several like it from Sonos, Apple, and others, will give you a great - very satisfying sound, but for the same money you can get better sound quality out of 2 speakers or a nice big sound bar. I wanted a single speaker for its portability, small footprint, aesthetics, convince, and feature set. I also enjoy the Alexa integration and appreciate how much I can customize it.Setup was simple. However, I have found that if you are willing to spend some time with it you can really customize your experience. Their app makes this a fairly straight forward experience. In the morning, I just tap the top 3 times and my favorite music starts playing. Tapping two times advances the music to the next song, a single tap pauses or resumes. You can also customize the double tap to whatever you want. Later in the day I tend to change genres and simply ask Alexa to play what I want. I found that you can customize Alexa to prioritize one music service over another (for example to search Pandora first or Spotify or Amazon Music, etc.). You can also ask Alexa to play a particular playlist you have created. My family really appreciates its ease of use and sound quality as well. The fit and finish is quite superior. Holding it, turning the volume knob, or just looking at it you can know the high quality of the craftsmanship. It is a bit of a show piece. They got all the details right, even down to the cloth wrapped power cord.I’m surprised just how much we really enjoy this speaker and how well it has integrated into our daily lives. It is so helpful to be able to move it on a whim and drop it into it’s charging dock at night. Again, if you really want high end sound quality, go with multiple speakers or a large sound bar and sub. We have a very nice sound system as well and it fills it’s purpose. If you are going for any combination of portability, convince, a small size, or a great feature set (to say nothing of its aesthetics) – this is an easy, and unique choice.

If only it sounded as good as it looks
I really wanted this one to work out. I've tested many dozens of speakers, headphones and earbuds. I focus on bluetooth units, looking for great sound that can follow me doing yard work, car work, projects, etc. I have found a few great ones and many not great. The, by far, pound-for-pound world champion is the Bose Soundlink Mini. They don't make it any more, and their newest generation speakers ("Revolve") do not hold a candle to the sound quality of the Mini.Anyhow, I've had my eye on this since it was launched. It looks AWESOME. But sound quality is beyond all. Make a portable speaker that sounds bigger than its britches. Good battery life is important, but a few hours is enough to get you through a good amount of work. It's a speaker. It could take calls or charge your phone or last 50 hours, or talk to Google or Alexa or Siri, but it's a SPEAKER. If it can't do that one thing well, the rest is irrelevant. And there we find this. It looks great. It's not as heavy as I would have thought, but the build and materials quality are as impeccable in person as they look in the pictures. I put it on the base (also very nice, very solid, good-looking and well-made) and connected it to listen to my favorite test tracks...And spit it back out. Major, unfortunate fail. Bose Soundlink Mini still holds the title in my book for the biggest-sounding tiny speaker, and Bang & Olufsen (A1, A2, P6) makes fantastic runners-up.This speaker is not relevant. Not a contender. Can't compete in the market.Don't plan on hearing any tones under 120Hz. For its size, and for that matter, price, it's embarrassingly bad. You can spend $20 on a no-name speaker that also sounds terrible. The great materials and build quality are rendered entirely irrelevant by the dismal sound quality. If you REALLY don't care what the speaker sounds like, OK. This one looks great. But that's a weird scenario, and if you care whether the speaker actually sounds decent, pass this one right on by. It doesn't. It's an expensive, cool cabinet with no evident audio engineering. Too bad. I wanted it to sound as good as it looks.

Believe the sound criticisms. Beautiful hardware
I purchased and returned this item.Sound:While I LOVE and adored the aesthetics of this device, the sound left a lot to desire. It got loud, but really distorted at anything higher than low-medium volume. I own some sonos home speakers and I really can't justify this one just because its portable when it does not sound that great for the price. I've never been too heavily swayed by the idea of a "Wide sound stage" from audio reviewers, but this device sadly made me understand this as songs sounded jumbled and flat.Hardware/software: The material and build of this was amazing. There was something super satisfying in turning the volume and push of buttons. The dock was a nice feature and the leather/canvas/metal was a great sensory experience. The other downside from a hardware/software perspective was the lack of a real "off" mode that stayed off.

Good audio quality, poor battery life, plenty of annoying snags
Five stars for the looks, four for the audio quality. However after having used the product for 6 months or so, I have grown increasingly annoyed at many of its features. Whenever you turn the speaker on / off, a loud guitar solo announces this...You can often hear "the solo" from your suitcase when traveling, as there is no lock mechanism to prevent the speaker turning on. I find the App also unnecessary - after all this is just a small speaker. The battery life is not great.

Great Sound- Alexa Issues
It looks great and sounds even better than hoped. Interface with Alexa still iffy if in the same room... when it is, I suggest listening to music via Amazon Music App on phone.via bluetooth.
