Premium Stainless Steel Pastry Scraper & Chopper By Sunsella

This is a MUST HAVE for anyone with a chopping block or cutting board. I have used my chef's knife to chop/mince herbs and food and then scooped it up to put in pots for many years. This scraper makes the task a hundred times better. I always scrape my boards to clean them, then mild soap, water and wipe clean. Transferring chopped/minced herbs and food is a breeze. The handle is large and easy to hold even when your hands are oily from meats. I am not into baking, so I can't comment on it use for that, but for everything else, it is a perfect tool. The reason I chose this over other similar items is the handle and the stamped measurements. I did not want the measurements able to be scraped off. They are permanently stamped into the metal. The stainless seems to be good quality and has shown no signs of staining or rust over the past months.

I've always wanted one of these but for some reason never thought about a pastry scraper when I was shopping online or off. Of course I'd remember whenever I was chopping up vegetables for stir fry or baking bread. I happened to be watching a cooking show while putting together an Amazon order and the chef was using a pastry scraper...BINGO! I ordered this one and I LOVE it!It has a nice sharp edge and is very comfortable to hold. Having one makes it a breeze to gather up vegetables. When baking bread products, it's a dream whenever it comes to cutting into the dough to separate it into multiple loaves and rolls.Now whenever I see someone on TV using one of these I can't help but think to myself, "I have one of those!"

Good price but the blade was bent on arrival. The steel is pretty thick so I wouldn't think that could happen too easily, but it did. I more or less straightened it out. Also the blade is not at all sharp so chopping veggies does not work. I wanted it as a scraper more than a chopper, so that doesn't really concern me.the handle is fairly thick so it is easy to grip. However, due to the thickness of the handle, I find that I am limited on what I can use this scraper for. One thing I wanted to use it for was cutting my freshly made cold-process soap loaves. Dimensions in the description say "6 inches x 4.3 inches" but the height of the working blade (less the handle) is 3 1/4 inches, so I can't cut a 3.5 or 4 inch bar of soap with this tool. Didn't realize that when I purchased.

I already had a bench scraper--plastic; however, after seeing a YouTube video touting the perfection of pie crusts made with metal pastry choppers, I bought this. It seems all cold mixing things and NOT using ones hands--they are usually warm-- to blend the pastry dough, really make a difference. As a matter of fact it does. I plan to buy another one soon. My Thanksgiving pie crusts were perfection! I highly recommend this item.

Nice quality and feel. Dishwasher-safe. I really like the pressed measurement lines as you can check for consistency in size as you are batching out items.When i was starting with breadbaking, I thought it was silly to have all this equipment (bench scraper and bowl scraper?!) If you are only going to get one, I would recommend buying this metal bench scraper for dividing dough first. It really did greatly improve my experience of working with (particularly wet) dough. Add some flour or water or oil to the blade (depending on context) to keep it from sticking to your dough.

I got sooo tired of trying to pick up wee pieces of garlic or onion after chopping/mincing. This is great for scooping up any veggie. Of course, also good for dividing pie, cookie, or bread dough without cutting my silicone pastry mat! The inches are etched into the steel so they will not wash off. It's also very heavy duty.

I have been using this scraper for about a month. It cuts through dough (bread, pizza, and scone) very well. I have not used it to cut vegetables. I have Wustof knives for that purpose and nothing would compare. I love the ruler/measurement that is engraved directly on the blade of the scraper. It comes in handy when having to roll out dough of a certain size. I have been hand washing the scraper and there is no evidence of rust or staining. I would purchase this product again if I had to.

I was a little reluctant to buy this because I wanted a “Master Chef” product, but I was pleasantly surprised at the weight and feel of this product. Just as good as Master Chef and cost less! Win win!
