I lose patience when I read ignorant reviews.
Some of the negative reviews do not seem fair. I use the The MELT Method, and The Miracle Ball Method, and find they are both effective for pain. I alternate these, along with several other products, to help control my Fibromyalgia. It takes a variety, as the pain is different from day to day, and what works one day, might not the next. The firmness of a product, depends on what part of the body I am working on. I love Amazon Reviews. It has helped me so much in making wise purchases. I bought this, along with the products mentioned. I was fully aware it was not part of either product, it just offered a savings to buy together. I was also aware that it was Firm Density. It clearly states this, along with the size, and a description of its use. I try to respect other opinions, but it is difficult when someone leaves a bad review, complaining about a product that is exactly as described! I always appreciate someone mentioning a place to buy something for less money, but the price should not change the rating. We all know what price we are agreeing to pay. I lose patience when I read ignorant reviews! I find it works well for massaging my feet. It may not work for everyone, and I respect those reviews, and have empathy for anyone dealing with pain. Best Wishes!

Yes, it is firm. Read the description. As a fitness instructor, I recommend it.
For those complaining that the ball is too hard for the MELT method, all I can say is this: The seller did not list it as such, Amazon did. Nowhere in the actual item description does it say it is associated with the MELT method. And those who complained it was very firm? The seller says in the description that it is firm, and in the picture you can see it doesn't squish under the foot. If the description says firm, then maybe you should expect a firm ball! It isn't rocket science. I have used this type of ball at every studio I have ever taught at as a fitness instructor. My clients and I find it very useful to roll out and release muscles throughout the whole body, either using the floor or the wall as a surface. It isn't as hard as a baseball, but it is slightly harder than a tennis ball. This brand holds up very well with commercial use.

Excellent for sore, inflamed feet
I first use theee In physical therapy and they were highly recommended by the therapist. Their excellent, easy to carry with you and very effective.

Serviceable As Massage Balls
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY: Some reviewers mention that these are too hard to use with the MELT method. Personally, I find these balls somewhat softer than the hard-rubber massage ball I had before. PRO: • Soft enough not to be too painful but hard enough for a deep tissue massage of your trained muscles. • Set of three, so you can use one by itself and tie up the two others in a pair to massage around your backbone. CON: • Somewhat rough surface, so they tend to trap and wrap around clothing, so that you have to awkwardly unwrap it from your clothes again.

Great PT ball
Great product. My physical therapist had me use one and I liked it so much I ordered two of them.

Excellent tool for back and shoulder pain
I needed something I could press against the wall and work out kinks in my back and shoulders and this does exactly what is needed and has been useful for working out knots in my upper back and shoulders.

Buyer beware, this ball is much harder than advertised
This item is much harder than shown in ad. When I open package and found that it was so hard as to not be useable. Definitely not “moderately” firm.

Excellent Ball for Bodywork & Massage - Not Intended For Exercises!
I am a bodywork practitioner and I recommend this ball to all clients, as well as have used it myself for years now. It is an excellent ball for warming-up areas before going deep into trigger pointing with another, harder ball. I would recommend a lacrosse ball to be the counterpart to this product. Highly recommended. It is durable and will last much longer than the toy marketed pinky balls of similar look and design because it is made to function as a tool for bodywork. This product is not advertised and is NOT intended for hand exercises, or for any other specific method (such as the MELT method, to many reviews complaints). It is for massage and bodywork. That's it! Read the description!

I purchased this to use for massaging and for trigger point releases. It was recommended to me by a physical therapist. I had other balls that I had but found them to be way too hard and uncomfortable. This one has a bit of give to it and I find it way more tolerable to use. Very happy with it!

Looks suspiciously like a pink lacrosse ball. A tad too hard for good massage.
