Average paper, nicely presented
This is the sort of notepad that initially looks much better than it actually is.It's nicely presented, in a fold out card section with a couple of small transfers included as extras. This opens out to reveal the book, which is inside a resealable plastic packet. The leather is smooth and seems decent quality and well made. What type of leather it is, or what animal, doesn't seem to be specified. It's thick, and creamy coloured, and has a strip to close it with.Inside there's an assortment of different types of paper, lined, brown, squared etc. This is where it stops being useful as a sketchbook and definitely becomes a notepad. The paper in general doesn't handle paint, inks or felt pens very well, they tend to bleed through or feather. This includes cartridge pens. Pencil is ok but lacks the tooth of a sketchbook. The paper is thin and a bit shiny. There are sections in stronger card with storage pockets between each type of paper, these seem sturdy and are genuinely useful. It's a mix. I'm limited to biro type pens and pencil, I'll try a couple of gel pens and see if they're any easier. I'm not hugely keen on the paper, but I do like the dividers and presentation. I think it's overpriced at £29.00Hit and miss. Thanks for reading, I hope you find this review helpful.
