verified purchase and true review from a happy PAYING customer
Ok, so I paid full price for this on my own volition based on the great reviews. After I purchased, I realized all the reviews were solicited/paid for, where nearly everyone gives their "fair review" but always strangely ends up 4 or 5 stars (go figure). So I got nervous that I bought a bad product and I'd regret the purchase. Well, I've had this about 3 months - my middle schooler uses it for school and martial arts lessons. It doesn't only keep things cold for 12 hours, like it says - there have been 24 hour period where the ice is still intact. It's insane. And there isn't a spot of rust like I've seen some others say. I don't know what happened to theirs but mine is fine. It's a nice looking bottle, and my daughter says it's the best bottle she's ever had. The mouth is big enough to put ice cubes in, the flip-top is super convenient. It's not 100% leakproof, but close enough that we haven't had any problems. I'm very happy with this and would buy again in a heartbeat. I didn't get paid for this and I did NOT get any discounts for this review !!!

Nice Bottle - Plastic Clip Quickly Fails!
It does, as it says on the box, keep things cold. But the latch for the top was designed by some fiend who had more time on their hands and no clue what they were doing. I am not a hard user of this bottle, but here, 4 months after purchase, the clip that holds the lid closed is broken (piece of plastic broke). So now it doesn't close - which makes it less useful as a travelling water bottle. It's a shame, it's a great water bottle with a fatal flaw.......*** UPDATE ***After writing this review I went to the vendor's web site because I thought I'd just buy a new lid. The web doesn't show them for sale so I sent an e-mail to their customer support. They confirmed that they do not sell just the lids, but they offered to send me a replacement bottle for free.So I have to say KUDOS to their support team. I'm enjoying my new bottle, cold liquids and so far a working lid. I'll be more careful this time and see if I can keep the lid whole!

Not a bottle expert, but I love this
I didn't really have high expectations because I don't know much about insulation/sports bottles. But the one I had before was terrible because the water flow was choppy and you had to work to get at it.This water bottle however not only does not have those problems, but it blew my mind. The water flow is amazing, just a constant stream. My only gripe is that the sound of it going through the nozzle is pretty loud, but I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if that's just unavoidable. For me it's not worth docking a star. The insulation is fantastic, like I've said before I didn't know much about insulation bottles, so before work I filled mine up at the sink with lukewarm water and put it in the fridge at work. After 6 hours I went to drink some and it was the exact same temperature, I laughed to myself because it was pretty astonishing to me.The design of the bottle is also fairly unique and looks really cool. The build quality makes it feel like a real premium product. I bet I could throw this down the Grand Canyon, climb down, and take a drink from it as if it were brand new.If I were to change one thing about this water bottle is the wording on the bottom "Fortune favors the brave", I would change it so the wording is in Latin, but that's just me.Overall I greatly enjoy this product and would definitely recommend and buy another from this company if I would ever need to.

Full-price review
RANT: I think any disclaimer should have to be at the TOP of your review, so I can quit reading all those unbiased reviews that got the item for free or discounted. I am only interested in your review if you plunked down your hard-earned money. For those who write these reviews, I disagree with your choice to shill products for others for so little in return. I'm still waiting to see something lower than a 4-star review from you all (I think I saw a 3 once.) Let's be honest, a discount colors our review in at least a moderately favorable way - we think kindly of anyone who gives us something for free/discount and generally have lower expectations of that product. This free/discount strategy is a way for sellers to build a quick stable of good reviews, and thereby attract more customers (or suckers, in the case of inferior products.) This strategy undermines the strength and credibility of the Amazon review system, and I detest it. I hope Amazon has the balls to get rid of this disclaimer stuff someday.REVIEW:I paid full price for this item. My fiance has had this water bottle for almost a year and loves it. No metallic taste (plan to soak it for a day before you use it; instructions are imcluded.) Masculine-looking design. Fits most car cup holders and bike bottle racks. Big plus is wide-mouth design. Many water bottles have a narrow mouth and won't accommodate larger ice well (or at all.) This does have a plastic cap, but it's BPA-free. He still tells me how much he likes it a year later.

I've had 3 of these water bottles and I love them. Well
I've had 3 of these water bottles and I love them. Well, I've had 2 and my gf has 1. She feels the same way. I'm kind of addicted to buying water bottles for different uses. The one I take to work might not be great for going hiking, for instance. This is a great solution for multiple types of use. There's another version of this on here, though it isn't insulated. I had that one and the insulation factor was missed, though I liked the bottle in itself and especially the lid closure. I have a few HydroFlasks, too and while they're a great product, once you get used to the lid feature you notice it. Or maybe only if you're weird like me. But regardless, this bottle does a great job of keeping cold liquids cold and also has the nice lid, so it's a win-win.Two things:1. I've only used cold water and ice in this. I believe that's all it's intended for as a hot liquid, like coffee, would most likely damage the insulation element. Which brings me to...2. BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FOR CLEANING. If you don't, the bottle won't work optimally since you run the risk of damaging the insulation element.Definitely a good purchase, you can easily fit any fruit pieces to flavor up your water, and will buy again when the day comes.
