Intouchables (Ws)

I saw both this one and the kevin hart movie that was done based on this one. This one was better in my opinion.

I won't give the story away as It's been reviewed so much on this page and deservedly so. It's just a joy of a film of a relationship between two men from opposite ends of the universe practically in every way with one character being a paraplegic needing constant care and trying to find the right person to help him through every day life. You'd think it would be deadly serious.....and it is in places but in a lot of it, it's a joyous movie with many earned honest laughs and showing how one human being can affect another. It's gut wrenching and heartbreaking, but it also is inspiring and funny.It's beautifully realized and the actor Omar Sy won the French Oscar (Caesar) award for Best Actor. It's also one of the rare breakthrough foreign language films, this one being French......to break out around the world as a box office hit.Then of course Hollywood saw this success and had to make an inferior English remake for North America called The Upside, but because of the strength of the story, it did all right for itself but there is absolutely no comparison with the French film which is definitely a keeper. Wonderful film.
