Tap Dancing America: A Cultural History

We bought this as a present for our 14 year old granddaughter. She was fascinated by the content and within a short time was regaling us with stories. It caught her attention and that’s what we had hoped.

I am not a dancer by any means, but for my dance term paper I wrote about each man in the "Challenge" sceen from the movie TAP. This book had everything I needed.

This wonderful book tells SO MUCH tap dance history... It is a MUST-HAVE for every tap dancer!

Absolutely delightful read, that I enhanced by accessing the book from the library and using YouTube to see clips of film that is out there, that isn't as well known as the traditional tap dance of Hollywood. HIGHLY recommend, especially to anyone serious in the art of tap.

Excellence abounds in this history of tap dancing. I have read many books on the history of tap dancing an this book is so detailed. Would highly recommend it!

This book is FANTASTIC! It's a great resource for all dancers and dance historians. I assigned this book for my students to read this semester and I think it will be hugely successful.
