a book for my collection
scott cunningham was a decent author on magical practices and lifestyles.I have to say his books never put me in awe, but he has a lot of insight into what truly matters and I can always trust him to introduce new ideas and define old ones in an easy to understand way.its a good book for any *grimoire* collectionim not sure if i agree that essential oils are going to be as hard to make at home as he implied, but he helped me come up with a more useful word for *essential oils*.Im going with herbal essences from now on from his definition since im going to get into herbalism here soon.i really hope he was incorrect about how difficult they are to make at home.Ive seen people do it fairly easily on youtube in their kitchen with life-hacks from just regular kitchenware.i already know the difference between herbal essences and tinctures. essences are always external use only.my favorite definition on tinctures:Tinctures are heavily concentrated extracts made by placing chopped fresh or dried herbs into a jar and covering them with a solvent: alcohol, glycerin or vinegar.theyre supposed to be imbibable by design.*essential oils* must be distilled and the buttery, waxy-looking leftover stuff that rises to the top is the *essential oil*.tbh the reason i went ahead and bought this book was the part on *essential oils* but it also pleasantly surprised me by incidentally reminding me about gem and mineral essences which was something i was trying to remember the name of.his section is on annointing stones, not the gemstone *elixers* but its an interesting side-note related to the topic of magical aromatherapy if crystals get infused in with the herbal essences for liquid incenses or annointing skin with carriers oils or alcohol bases mixed with herbal essences and infused with minerals or from corresponding stones.there are also gemstone *elixers* purportedly that can be safely imbibed.

Great aromatherapy book
I love this book. I actually had a much older copy of this book. It has most of the scents you will find. The descriptions are great. It also gives some history behind the scent as well

Dated but still very comprehensive
Bear in mind that this was written in the 1980's, when the idea of magical properties of aromatherapy was new and innovative. Knowing that, readers would find that many concepts and qualities of essential oils included in this book are still very comprehensible under today's standards. The recipes and rituals may not be useful for everyone, because rituals are the most powerful if they are customized to the ones performing them. I would say that this is a fairly comprehensive beginner's book, which can lead to other reading of similar nature.

Here's the Deal, if you own Magical Herbology by Scott Cunningham, you have this book!
I like the book, AND in saying that, I have to say it's a repeat of "Magical Herbology" , with a few added tidbits. I would have bypassed this if I had known, since I already own His herbology book! Yet I would say, if you really want to learn about the MAGICAL properties of herbs and uses with oils, this is still one of the best.

Just what I wanted, when I wanted it
Great book! I was looking for a specific application, and found it quickly. The book is a very well-organized directory of aromatherapy oils, as well as applications. It covers things you haven't thought of yet, even though you've been thinking for a while. I dearly love all of Scott Cunningham's books, and I mourn him, even as I celebrate his wonderful contributions to our world each time I go back to one of his books. I doubt that anyone will ever be able to take his place. Magical Aromatherapy: The Power of Scent (Llewellyn's New Age Series)

I would definitely recommend the Complete Book if you are interested in magickal ...
I purchased this book after I had purchased The Complete Book of Incense, Oils and Brews, thinking that I would find some guidance regarding scent composition as well as further information on the magickal properties of the materials. Although you really can't go wrong with Cunningham, if you already have The Complete Book, I wouldn't bother buying this one as it doesn't impart any new information and has less content. I would definitely recommend the Complete Book if you are interested in magickal herbalism and its various implementations and skip this one. I don't regret the purchase, but it was unnecessary for my needs.

The book is easy to use
Excited to have this book. Not only does it give aromatherapy information it includes "magic" as the title mentions.. hence i thought it was an adjective describing the aromatherapy. The book is easy to use, well written and enlightening.

Good for a introducing knowledge. Like it.
It is a good book for a general view of plants, oils, their planets and elements earth, fire, water, and so on. Also its vibration: for love, safety, protection... But is not so deep as I expected. But very good indeed for a start in this particular way of view! Thanks!!
