I probably should have read the fine print and I accept that but the fact planks aren't included and that this is only stated at the bottom of the unnecessarily long description is in my mind purposely misleading. Other than that this is fine. It is metal piping which I could have bought for 20 - 40 bucks at any hardware store. Lame.

Don't listen to anyone else on here. If you need instructions to do this or "tools" then you shouldn't be doing it yourself. Hire someone. It took 7 minutes to put together. Yes it seems weird that they dont line up at first but then you just use the leverage of the bars to tighten them so they all line up. That's the intended purpose and they are nice an snug. They are black matte powder coated and much nicer than pipes you're going to buy at a big box store. If you want cheaper pipes from the dome hepot then go for it, and you are not the intended target market for this product. If you want some nice unique shelf brackets, and apparently aren't poor, and can screw something together with little effort, than these are perfect! Otherwise just hire someone else. And no they don't come with shelves themselves as stated in the "fine print" of the title (buy some glasses first lady).

This was a really fun shelving project my handyman and I were able to knock off in a few hours. I have a vintage 1940s kitchen where space is at a premium. I had ordered the pipe shelf materials ahead and was initially disappointed it didn't come with the shelving but I was able to get one 12 x 20 board from home depot and have it cut into 4 pieces. We stained it and assembled all within a few hours. Note: there was one additional clamp piece - which is actually a plumbing piece - we needed to use to secure the shelving on the pipes. It only comes in rough silver but we were able to do black spray paint and it blends in beautifully with the piping. This is my handyman's favorite things he's ever done at my place. He took tons of pics and I must say it came out great. As for cost, he felt that the price was good. If you tried to create the pipes yourself, you'd spend far more so...even without the shelving, I'd say it was a good buy and we're really pleased with the results.

I’m pretty handy and this thing has got to be the worst thing I’ve ever tried to install. It comes in pieces... no big deal, right? Wrong! The pieces don’t fit together well so you have to force them (like, with tools) to get them to line up into a flat shape to fit against the wall. Getting them lined up is a nightmare Itself. Or you can just leave them floppy to line up easier (but don’t, I made that mistake at first). Then guess what? The pair’s lengths are off and don’t match up with each other! Then add on the fact that neither the top or bottom makes a true 90 degree angle so no matter what you do, your boards/ shelves won’t sit flat and they wobble. Sure, you can try to pull on the metal to line it all up but that’ll damage the heck out our your drywall (my laundry closet wall is a mess now). Don’t buy these pieces of junk. WAY more hassle than it’s worth. I have attacked this 3 times and put it aside because I just can’t handle these pieces of crap anymore. I have to refinish my wall after all this, and I still can’t get them installed! I can’t believe I dropped over $60 on these!

This is a very sturdy product, but be sure to mount it into studs. While they certainly give you lots of dry-wall mounting parts, if you want to put any books or photos or anything even moderately heavy on it, make sure to you mount into wall studs or it might all fall down...

These are top notch, and heavy duty high quality. Because they are threaded pipe, it can be tricky to screw in and align everything. I wanted snug fittings so I held the pipes to the floor and used ample force to tighten until even. Nothing stripped out so definitely heavy duty. Four stars instead of five because no instructions. I looked at the listing pics to see what went where. Will order again. Thanks

Easy to assemble and quick to install, I chose this set so I could have flexibility in the shelf width which turned out nicely. I chose my own boards/stain which is an added perk of this set. I used a laser level and a stud finder to mount these shelves sturdily to the wall on a stud. I think the drywall mounts would have been challenging and would’ve failed as I have a lot of books.

Loved how it looks in our living room! Bought the wood separately and burnt them a little to give that rustic look! It was definitely easy to assemble and I like how we were able to choose how many shelves to put and how wide we wanted it to be!
