I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Hawaiian instruments, no matter if you are making them or collecting them. The book comes in high quality print n paper with detailed descriptions, and step by step photo instructions. I am working on making Ipu and Ipu Heke from gourds, and I feel like having an instructor standing by me which helps me avoid making mistakes or ruining materials. I highly recommend this book to instrument lovers, art collectors, Hawaii fans, and Hula learners/dancers.

Excellent book with a treasure trove of information so you can make your own instruments. To all of us who want to make our own instruments and who treasure Hawaiian culture, this is a wonderful useful tool and a generous gift. Very glad I was able to obtain a copy!!!

Good book, great price, fast delivery

This book covers step by step process for making hula implements and Hawaiian instruments. There are photos that accompany each step in the process that make this a very easy to "follow along" guide. Very easy directions.

This book has made it possible for us to save hundreds of dollars because we can now make our own instruments for our dance classes and recitals. I believe that this is a MUST-HAVE for schools that do not have immediate access to ready made instruments or those that do not have the money to purchase ready made instruments. A great resource book!

There is plenty of information on various instruments with fairly good detail of construction. A help in our hana no`eau projects.
