Installed beautifully after a little planning! Tip slide the whole thing under first and get an idea where and how it’s going to fit. Then slide the top part out, roll back the backing a little and slide it back in place lifting UP to stop a strong adhesion. Then slowly pull the backing of the underside, yes it’s tricky but not difficult. You might need to adjust a little bit or took me 3 mins at most. No overhang. Very helpful!

I gave up on the first one and ordered another. It's almost impossible to get this under the strings without the template touching the finger board. I suppose it would b best to un string the instrument to assure a perfect fit. I did trim the edges down so I don't have any over hang at the sides. I have it installed, but be aware you need patience.

This finger guide looks nice and the adhesion is pretty good. Unfortunately the guide is about 2mm too wide for a standard 4/4 violin. This means that when the guide is centered properly that the edges overhang the fingerboard by about 1mm on each side. This is immensely uncomfortable and you're likely to end up with paper cuts on your fingers/palm. So, take a minute or two before installing and trim about 1mm from both edges. I have already installed mine and the temptation to attempt a careful excision of the overhang is strong. However, I don't anticipate risking a permanent scratch (or worse) on my fingerboard. So, sadly, I guess I'm out about $7. Oh well . . . lesson learned and I hope that other buyers will benefit from my mistake.UPDATE 8 August 2019I have reduced my initial 4 star rating to 1 star. I did this because, contrary to the claims of the seller, Upon removal this item leaves an enormous amount of adhesive residue all over your fingerboard. Save your money and look elsewhere.

I like them but not for the price. It's a sticker that you put on your bridge. They do hang off the edge and I don't believe this is for 4/4 they were a little small
