Evans EBP-EMAD-SYS Bass Drumhead Pack EMAD System, 22"

Ordered early hours of Monday morning, received Tuesday morning! I've used the Evans EMAD system before, and love the tonal qualities it gives, but I am a heavy hitter, and tend to go through beater heads every 3 or 4 months, so I thought this time I'd try the ported resonator head too as its fast approaching recording time! Some people will swear by Remo drum skins and others by Evans. You have to figure out what type of tone you want from your drum kit. I went for the Evans EMAD skin as I was intrigued by the dampening system they have incorporated on the skin. I still use a pillow inside my bass drum and use the thinner dampening ring and my kick sounds fabulous. I have watched many videos of the Evans EMAD skin review where they don’t have any pillow/blanket inside the drum and they recommend doing the same, but i’m not quite ready to give up on the pillow just yet lol. Hopefully this helps, and remember, figure out the tone you want out of your kick and then go for the skin that will help you achieve that tone.
