Accents my kitchen counters beautifully!
The strip was easy to install and it accents my kitchen counters beautifully! Not sure why they have been described as blue. They produce a very crisp, clear light (similar to a "daylight" color) - which is what I wanted. They are not high powered led's (24 watts/16.4' strip), but provided sufficient light to dispel shadows and enhance my counters/backsplash - which is what I wanted. Do your homework on this stuff, because there are endless choices...

Good lights just understand a few limitations...
This review works for any of the 15ft strip LEDs from various suppliers on Amazon. You can't beat the value but you need to be aware of a few issues.1. The color temperature is off. These strip LEDs are sold as either warm white, cool white and daylight. I have found that warm white has a green tint to it, similar to fluorescents and the cool white / daylight (which are both the same) appears with a purple tint. What I found was that by combining the two I generated an acceptable white color for my applications. I suggest if you purchase one strip of the color you want and see if you like the color temperature. Don't rely on the description.2. They come with connectors that are a bit difficult to connect. In order to use them, I had to (with the non-waterproof versions) use a knife and scrape the top of where the contacts are on the strip to expose the copper so the connectors would make contact. On the waterproof ones, I had to do the same as well as peel away the silicone cover about 1/4" so the connector would fit. After messing with them for a while, I decided for my under-cabinet light application to simply solder wires directly to the strip. It was a lot easier and I didn't have to chase loose connections. If you are going to use the full 15' strip without cutting it, I would recommend purchasing one where the connector is already attached.3. Make sure you get a strong enough power supply. Figure 20 watts per strip and purchase a power supply strong enough for twice that. Also, some power supplies will provide the power instantly while others will have a few second delay. On the larger power models, I found the black plug in supplies (with cords similar to computer cords) had the delay, whereas the encased supplies with the fan that you have to wire up had instant power. I tried a few cheap ones first but they failed early on.Overall these strip lights are great. The fact that you can cut them to various lengths make them quite convenient for a lot of different applications. I knew about the above issues by reading reviews before purchasing so I wasn't disappointed. Bottom line, I did my cabinet lights for around $60 rather than spending $400-$500 at Lowes for the same thing. I also found these strip lights at a local electronics supply store for $80 per strip so they are a great deal here on Amazon.

Great kitchen under counter lighting but had to put three rows(one in the back, one in the center and one to the front + another 12 inch front to back at both ends of each cabinet(my cabinets are individual, not one single unit sized to the area)). Also in one area I didn't stretch enough and a 3 inch area keeps bubbling out. Of the total install this is the only area doing it so I'm at fault(that was done with a strip of about 6' 4" long). It helps to be able to solder supply conductors to the strips if sizing to an area.Compared to the florescent fixtures being replaced I love the look, cost efficiency and hopefully long life.

Runs hot, not bright for double density
Bought these as double density for more light.. and found it to be no brighter than a 300 per meter strip I had.. and found them less diffuse. Its nice to have the greater granularity for length, but light output and pattern was inferior. They also ran noticeably HOT... hot to touch

Work well and are very bright. The light is very blueish-white. Each came with a little power jack connector. The LED strip do have a very strong plastic / chemical smell.

Bright lights that are neat!!
These lights are neat!! Wish they were easier to wire when cut into sections, though....if it came wired on each end it would help. My only suggestion to users is to buy some jumper wires with alligator clips. I don't think common soldering tools will get the job done or if they will, I guess I don't have the patience to do it!!
