Bertelin Cordless Electric Glass Kettle - LED Illuminating, 1.7 Litre

SO-deciding the kettle had seen better days, i decided to do it right. Off to currys/pcworld and bought a lovely £36 glass Russell Hobbs. Anyway, after a couple of days cloth in one hand, kettle in the other, wiping the worktop, russell hobbs agreed it was faulty. So did lots of other people on the review sites with that model. Now i have a lovely Bertelin glass kettle,for £18, on my doorstep, which does not piss everywhere. why are shops closing? who can guess. That was March. This is may. This kettle has been great. Looks good, no plastic to speak of near the water, easy to lift and still works. Maybe there are odd bits could be better, but it’s great value and performance

We loved the look of this kettle as glass but it did scale up easily so always looked full fo limes ale as could see into it. The kettle lasted 2 years and 2 months then completely stopped working and had to go in the bin!

I bought this for £15 which is excellent value, despite some small niggles. I expected the brushed stainless steel to be shinier from the images, but it's fine. You sometimes need to press the 'on' switch a couple of times before it engages (press it positively, don't just 'flick' it). Despite the images showing crystal clear glass, bear in mind that you will ALWAYS have condensation inside, above the water line, which is a shame, but it still looks pretty good, particularly with the blue light whilst boiling. The lid opens well for filling.

At the price I had doubts. Previously owned 2 Russel Hobbs glass illuminated kettles . Both went down the same road both lids broke off. This is better built than those for third of the price, don't be put off by the brand name. It doesn't boil as quick but knew that as the previous kettles were 3k. It's quiet pours better. Really happy would highly recommend. Delivery faster than they suggested too. Remember to factor in the delivery fee. If you are buying and never had glass kettle remember to get some De Scaler. Oust is what I've been using. One tip too. Once used let it cool and put it in a glass jar. You can keep using the same liquid over and over.

Our Bertelin Electric Kettle was very good value. it is easy to judge the temperature for making coffee as the water can easily be seen through the clear glass sides, so the amount of bubbling of the water shows how hot it is.Easy to fill, easy to use switch. Water Hardness deposits are easily seen, but removing them with a cup of white vinegar takes only a few minutes. The blue LED lighting around the base looks very neat and it fits easily on it's base. No mention is made about guarantee or support on the box, but if it lasts a year or two that will beat the major brands at half the price.

Great value for money. I had to replace mine because I was using tap water and the scale kept building up. I’m now using bottled water and I have to say it makes a difference. The kettle only needs cleaning (descaling) once a month. It’s silent and fast so if you need a good kettle without spending too much this is the one. And it also looks good.

This is a fabulous looking glass kettle! Beautiful blue hue when boiling water. Heats up quickly, easy to fill and so easy to clean! I live in a hard water area so expect to get some limescale build up inside. I have tried vinegar and water solution, bring to boil leave for half an hour then rinse out but for an even better clean use lemon juice.. amazing! Looks like new. Pours nicely and no spillage. Looks great in our new kitchen. Definitely recommend.

This kettle looks very good and is quieter than others I have had and boils quickly. I would have given five stars but for one fault. If the kettle is tipped over too far when pouring, it leaks boiling water from the sides of the spout which can scald the unwary. Advice: Don't fill it to the max and pour very carefully. I am used to it, but my wife has been caught out by it a few times.
