Great Hemostats for the Price
I purchased these hemostats to use while practicing suture techniques. They arrived very quickly (within a few days) and as described. The only issue I had with them is that they were VERY stiff when I first tried to use them. However, I applied a little bit of silicone spray at the hinge and worked it in by opening and closing the hemostats several times and reapplying the silicone until they moved smoothly. The clasp/closer mechanism works great, too, and I haven't had any issues with them opening/unlocking unexpectedly. I searched all over the internet (including Amazon, eBay, and several medical supplier company websites) for cheap, basic hemostats, and these were by far the best price. Once I got them to operate smoothly, I loved them! Definitely recommend!

A Little Rough but gets the job done
I actually bought these for some arts and craft projects that I do. For what I need them for they work great. The metal is not very smooth and it does have some rough unfinished edges. I use these to hold and twist ribbons so this is problematic for me sometimes because the jagged edges get caught on the fabric of the ribbon. However, if you were using these for a different purchase it probably would not be an issue. Otherwise the product is great! The seller was quick to ship and arrived well packaged. Thank you.

no blemish stainless steel looks great.
I have purchased this type of Hemostats before, they are Great for small electronic work with wires going into tight spaces. I have also used them when terminating ethernet cables to a punch down block.

Well...
Curved one is great. Straight one, cannot be relied on to stay clamped closed.

Crudely cast, for hobby use only
In fairness, these are described as "economy grade" and for "hardware use" and they surely are. Perhaps I expected too much. Not only is the poor casting unattractive, but the tolerances are so bad that they don't close tightly enough to hold fine fishing line. Forget about pulling a human hair with these.

Very useful to have around the house
These are perfectly adequate for non-surgical use. I have some German made hemostats that were used in surgery that are much higher quality, but for use around the home these are perfectly adequate. For example, I use these to pull bits of paper out of a paper shredder when cleaning it. The jaws have reasonable teeth (not sharp as in a high grade hemostat) but plenty of gripping power for their intended use. As long as you're not using these for cardiac surgery, they should be just fine.

Basic Hemostats
As part of my survival plan in the event of a catastrophe, I assembled a field medical kit. The kits capability is to self administer as much medical care as possible in order to survive the circumstances. These were part of the basic field surgical capability to suture and treat various injuries such as removal of shrapnel or other foreign debris. These will serve the survival kit needs but are not the highest quality. They self lock which is good.

Not a surgical grade as you might be led to believe, that or OR standards have gone down quite a bit.
Kind of neutral here. the loops for your fingers are generally not big enough for my ham hands. also they do not seem as well built as the two pairs that I use for fishing that were liberated from an OR.So much so that I looked up the manufacturers of the other pair I had and ordered them elsewhere. then gave these away. It's the first time I've been disappointed by a product here. Will work well enough for you if you have slender, dainty fingers and only plan to use them for fishing,
