Drain 600mm x 450mm Galvanised Steel 25 Tonne Heavy Duty Manhole Cover PC6EG (Overall Size Including Frame is 663mm x 513mm)

Having originally bought the 5 Ton version of this cover I was a bit worried that it flexed too much even when walked on. This 25 ton cover has cross braces welded to the underside and as you might expect is much heavier duty. Clark themselves said I would also have to replace the 5 ton PVC base as the depth of the channel would be different, but in fact the heavier duty cover has fitted perfectly into the 5 ton base and seems very sturdy. Very happy with the finished result.

Excellent quality cover. Great for todays big cars on our drive. Very strong metal reinforced manhole lid and frame. Would recommend.

This cover has reinforcement of at least 3” under it so it will not fit very shallow manholes.

My 56 lbs cast iron drain cover cracked after driving my 2.5 ton SUV over it continually (Not surprising) So I brought this as a replacement. Easy to fit . You may need ,as I did to hacksaw 1/2 off the bracing fin tips on the back to fit if your brickwork like mine it interferes with the cover. This took all of 5 mins and didn't compromise its structural integrity. Now I need to paint it to tone it down from bright galvanised silver Hammerite black probably.

Normally the cost deters me from overkill of this magnitute. Lid has a massive X-brace on the underside to give its huge 25T weight rating. For me its well worth the modest price increase over a 5 or 10 ton cover. Replaces a driveway cover that used to 'flex' under normal car weights. This replacement is obviously rock solid.

Fitted perfectly and I can drive my 4x4 over it without any issues. Looks smart
