SUPER COMFORT! Wish I had discovered this mask YEARS ago!!!
I've been using my Ergonomic Sleep Mask for about a week now. As a day sleeper, I've used other sleep masks for over 25 years now, and I've tried everything from airline freebies to the run of the mill internet offerings. NONE of them have been really good. Most of them have been uncomfortable junk.I was surprised that The Ergonomic Sleep Mask is hands down the best sleep mask I've ever had, which caused to me to wonder why this mask works so well while others have ranged in quality from "abysmal" to only "pretty good". Finally examining it closely, the answer is simple: No Sharp Edges and No Hard Pressure Points. Somebody has finally sat down and put some serious THOUGHT into how to construct a comfortable but effective sleep mask.On the Ergonomic Sleep Mask, the soft elastic head strap is about 1 inch wide and had a smooth but positive sliding adjustment mechanism that allows just the amount of tightness you want. The elastic in the band provides just enough give to hold the mask gently but securely against your face without pinching or digging in. No cheap, sharp and stiff elastic - or worse yet thin strings, like in other masks. The mask itself is the real prize though. The mask incorporates concave eye pockets that give your eyes some room to breathe and keeps your eyelashes from clashing with the mask. Hate waking up with detached eyelashes in your eyes and all over your face? Me too. Makes me wonder where they all came from! That's not the best part though. While not being chunky and thick, the mask is all rounded and smooth surfaces that eliminate outside light (even in broad daylight), but without poking, gapping and causing pressure points anywhere. The only thing you'll feel is SOFT and SMOOTH! It's as if somebody made me a custom mask to fit my face.Another nice touch, which I've found useful, is that the mask comes with a pair of complementary ear plugs in their own sealable plastic storage case. I thought that was rather thoughtful and they work well too.I'm finished with the cheap, ill-fitting "sleep" masks that pinch, gap, poke and leak light. With the Ergonomic Sleep Mask I've finally stumbled upon a sleep mask that was actually designed by somebody intelligent to eliminate the many annoyances of lesser sleep masks and HELP someone get to sleep. For my money, it's cheap at twice the price. What's a good night's sleep worth to YOU??? I predict that anybody who tries this one will never use any other type of mask.PS - If you have a loved one who uses a sleep mask, surprise them with one of these. You'll score HUGE points!Ask me how I know!UPDATE: I have owned this mask for 18 months now. I wear it every night and I run it through the washing machine using a little bleach every week. This mask is still as good as if it were brand new. The daily use and washing has not caused any noticeable wear and tear whatsoever. All of my former sleep masks only lasted a few masks before they stretched out, frayed or just plain fell apart. This is the first time that I've had a mask that I'd consider permanent quality.

Worth every penny
I've tried various other sleep masks and they all had problems--too thin, too thick, too tight, too loose. I ordered this one and was pleasantly surprised from the moment I opened the package. The mask comes in a very classy-looking box, with a satin bag to keep it clean in your carry-on or what have you. I agree with the other reviewer that it looks like something you'd find in a luxury hotel room. I'd expect to see this kind of packaging on a $50 product, not $15. This is a company that definitely understands the value of a good first impression. But it's not all appearances. I was even more impressed when I actually tried the mask out. The strap is designed like a bra or tank top strap, so you have one plastic ring on the side and a plastic bracket in the back, and you pull the fabric through the bracket to tighten or loosen it. This allows the mask to fit any size head without pressure or discomfort. It's a very simple, but effective design: as soon as I tried it, I thought, "why don't all sleep masks have this?" The only downside is that the plastic parts can be uncomfortable if you roll onto them in your sleep, but they are so small that I haven't had that problem much. The mask itself is excellent quality: very sturdy construction, but soft and comfortable design. There are no protruding seams or anything like that, so this mask won't leave weird lines on your face in the morning. I absolutely love the "ergonomic" design, which blocks most of the outside light from your eyes, but doesn't put as much pressure on them as other similar masks I've tried. I should note that the light blockage is not 100%, so if you wear this in a bright room and keep your eyes open, chances are you will see some light leaking from underneath. That said, the leakage is very minimal, and with your eyes shut it's impossible to tell that you're not in total darkness. I could sleep outside in broad daylight with this thing. The only suggestion for improvement I would make would be to figure out a similar strap design, but without the hard plastic bits. Other than that, I have absolutely no problems with this product. For $15, this was an excellent buy.

Best sleep mask out there!
I have used several types of sleep masks - some don't stay on, others too big and press on the nasal passageways, others that are scratchy and rough, and many that sit uncomfortably right on the eye. This mask has taken all of those issues into consideration, and they've made the perfect sleep mask. This mask is made of super soft material with an adjustable wide strap (stays put!), contoured eye cups with abundant padding around the circumference of the eye, leaving space for natural REM during sleep. It is also designed to sit higher up on the nose and does not press on the nasal airway. It is extremely well made, does not shift around when I sleep and blocks out all light. My first night wearing it, I slept better than I have since moving into my apartment 4 years ago, a space that suffers from a lot of artificial light from parking lot lamps and walkway sconces. The mask comes very nicely packaged and with a travel bag and a set of foam ear plugs with their own plastic traveling case. Highly recommend this mask! You won't be disappointed.

Comfortable and effective
This sleep mask is surprisingly good. It's soft and comfortable, it fits well, it stays on even though I toss and turn. It blocks the light very effectively, but doesn't press against my eyes. The only slight downside is it does get warm after a while, but that's only a problem if I try to wear it all night. I usually put it on toward morning, when I start to get restless, and I can easily wear it for 2-4 hours without it heating up.
