BlackPink’s Jennie goes solo on Solo!
I was a bit surprised that the package is literally the photobook with a sleeve for the CD inside the back cover. However, once I got past the surprise I was very happy. The quality of the book is top notch and the hard cover is thick with a faux leather feel to it. I’m currently looking for book stands to display this as well as other BlackPink items I have, so for now it’s on a coffee table... I received one postcard photo and one Polaroid styled photo. I really like the Polaroid photo as there is a message from Jennie on the back and her signature! The photobook itself is nice, I would have preferred glossy photo paper but still it has a good array of pictures of Jennie that are quite cute! The CD has two tracks- two versions of Solo as they included an instrumental version... I wasn’t expecting that so it’s kinda cool. I wish it included the music video, which I absolutely love! Now compared to other Albums on the price point, this doesn’t quite hit the value marker. You can get other BlackPink albums like Square Up and Kill this Love that have 4 different songs on each and more collectibles (especially with the latter) or even more of a disparity is evident when looking at The Album with its 8 songs and lots of added goodies (like a hardcover photobook with a holographic cover). This all speaks to simple monetary value, but as a Blink this is a must have! Unless you are just purchasing a digital copy of the song then this is the way to go and I wanted to support Jennie’s solo debut! I look forward to doing the same for Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo at some point. And let’s be honest, this song is pretty amazing!
