A Song of Ice & Fire: Night's Watch Starter Set

While papa Tywin looks impressive enough, I was more eager for Tyrion with battle axe and the High sparrow and they look quite good, fitting with my imagined characters (nothing against the actors in the TV show, but I like these depictions better).The Hound and Pycelle (an auto include with the current rules) look nice as well.

Had everything but a friend in order to play the game. Great game, easy to learn, and excellent miniatures.

What's not to love about this starter? You get ranged cavalry, 2 brothers, a veteran unit, Jon snow and ghost.The nights watch are an elite faction with a large dose of healing. Simply put, they're really beginner friendly. Just point your units at the enemy and charge. Much like the other sets it provides a good 30 point (small game) army, if you want to play larger (40, medium, or 50, large) do yoursf a favor and get a second starter. The value is huge.

Good quailty miniatures. Perfect for gaming and painting. Wonna buy other sets as well.

Be careful when ordering these starter sets for ASOIAF. I failed to see if this was the 2021 version and it is not. The product info on this page says September 2018, but my actual box says 2020. Either way, it's already outdated, which means Amazon/third parties are selling out dated starter sets still, instead of the 2021 versions. Maybe CMON doesn't have enough for Amazon, but just know that you are buying an outdated version of the rulebook and cards. Models should still be the same from 2018 to 2021, but everything else is old.Now I have to spend $20 on the 2021 card pack for the night's watch. THANKFULLY, this starter set was less than $70 with my discount so in total this set plus the 2021 card pack still runs cheaper than almost all the other starter sets alone. Those are probably outdated as well.Just make sure you check the production dates on these because 2021 version is the latest. Otherwise, everything in the box is nice quality and I'm excited to play my first game! Had to remove 1 star for two broken unit models right out of the gate. I was able to just superglue them at my local TTG store, so that's nice.

Bought this for my brother I love playing it

First off, if you like the show, this won't feel completely familiar. This game is based on the books. Now don't let that turn you away! If you ever wanted to have yourself a all out GoT (Game of Thrones) battle, look no further. You can play as instructed by building a points style army or go casual and just blast each other. The game does a good job of balancing the uses of both militia and the minds behind the scene. I admit this is a costly path to go down. However I feel this is a good marriage of table-top war game meets board game. This will appeal to both sides.

The components are very high quality, and the fact that the miniatures come pre-assembled mean you can start playing within minutes. The rules are easy to learn, but with plenty of strategic depth to grow into. And of course, the box art, cards, and all included books are just gorgeous. All in all, I highly recommend this product. It may just be my new favorite tabletop game.
