Excellent Defender Replacement!
After doing some research I decided to try this case. Before I begin I need to say that I am a hard core Otterbox Defender user. The Defender is the only case I have ever considered using, have been and am still a staunch advocate of its superior protection and quality of build. I used the Defender on 3 series of iPhones and 4 generations of iPads. The Otterbox Defender is great but it does have a few drawbacks. The first well known issue is the fact that within one year the outer rubber will expand and get loose. It's better than a few years ago when they used some sort of silicon but it still happens. Another problem is the size of the case. Generally the Defender pretty much doubles the thickness and weight of the device. These things never deterred my decision to choose the Defender because it's superior protection is necessary due to my line of work and travel schedule.Recently I discovered that the screen area around the home button of my iPad Air 2 has permanent damage caused by the membrane that covered it which was glued to the inside of the Otterbox screen protector. Otterbox apparently discovered the issue and now glue the membrane on the outside of the screen protector. Unfortunately for me I purchased the original Air 2 case before they discovered the problem. That said, I decided to explore other options. After some research, here I am. On to the review...This case is excellent! Right off the bat, it feels and functions as if Otterbox updated the Defender and made it slimmer and half the weight. The iPad fits snug and the screen protector is perfect, as if it's not even there. There is no membrane over the home button but the cut out fits perfect around the raised ring surrounding the button in a way there I can't imagine any dust leaking in. Very nice. Unlike the Defender, the back of this case is hard plastic with a rubber like material around the edges. The weight, slim design and feel is great. The port and button covers fit and function perfectly. This case totally feels like an updated intelligent redesign of the Otterbox Defender. The one and only negative is the fact that there is no removable hard screen cover with built in stand like the Otterbox. However, if you are replacing an Otterbox, guess what? The cover fits over this case. It is loose and will not snap on but with a little modification (or a big rubber band) you can make it work.As a serious Otterbox Defender user (for all the years it has existed), I am very happy with this purchase, especially at such a low price!

Great case, great price, easy install.
I've had this case for about a year now. It is very durable and protects my Ipad Air 2 extremely well. I've seen others review this and say that it was difficult to install or just didn't fit. I installed this with no tools in less than 90 seconds. It fits perfect, and my Ipad doesn't have a scratch on it after a year. The built in screen protector works great, it doesn't scratch easily (I'm assuming, since after a year it still doesn't have any scratch on it). And the screen protector doesn't dim down the screen any more than any other screen protector. Once the screen lights up you can't even see it. The screen does get greasy smudges on it pretty easy, but then again, I'm usually eating something greasy and unhealthy while I'm being a couch potato and playing with my Ipad. It's not too heavy, but it does add some bulk to the Ipad. But that's a reasonable trade off for the protection it offers. I've accidentally dropped my ipad onto hardwood floors more than once, and this kept it protected perfectly.

Great case!
Instead of a raise or a bonus or even a Christmas party, this year my wife's company decided to give her a used iPad air 2. I mean it's better than nothing but come on. Anyway we have a two and a half year old that might as well be Conan the destroyer when it comes to, well everything I guess. We knew if this thing was going to stand a chance it would need a case. All that being said I'm very impressed by this case at the price point. I usually use spigen cases for my phones and this is at least as nice quality of not better and very reasonably priced.Build quality is top notch, the buttons still have a nice click when you push them, the tolerances are all right on. It feels like it as a solid amount of protection without adding tons of bulk. The packaging the case came in was also very nice it looked high quality and really adds a nice touchThe screen protector doesn't seem to reduce the sensitivity of the touch screen and it keeps little fingers off the touch screen directly.Overall I'm very happy with this case, if my wife gets able iPad next year I'll but another case from supcase.

Excellent case, but......
Overall, this case is fantastic at the price point, it provides excellent protection adding very little bulk to the size of the iPad. The case fits well in the hand and is comfortable to hold.A couple of things to be aware of:The access points for the earphone and charging cable are too small and difficult to use. Once the flap is opened to gain access to the port it is very difficult to plug in a cable because the flap is very tight and continues to snap closed - there is a lot of pressure behind it to stay in the closed position. It is virtually impossible to plug in a cable with one hand. Furthermore, once a cable is plugged in, it is difficult to remove it because flap is forcing itself into the closed position and there is so much pressure on the end of the cable. The earphone access point is better than the charging port. I anticipate the the port on the device and the cable will be damaged over time due to this issue. I find myself unable to get a good grip on the end of the charging cable to remove it and end up pulling on the cable itself. The access points on the case certainly need to be made larger and the edge of the case leading to the port need to be tapered as it leads to the port to allow for easier access.A couple of design enhancements will easily make this a 6 star product.
