Amazing Action Alphabet Flip Chart-Teach Kids Letter Sounds Fast to Learn to Read Spiral-bound – March 10, 2007

Yes, this is an amazing program! My 18-month-old was showing interest in letters and sounds, and she is a very physically-oriented child (like most toddlers!), so this sounded like it might work. I didn't expect much at first because she was so young, but oh my gosh, it worked right away. Each letter is pictured as an animal, and there is a little story and an action to accompany each one. For example, A is an alligator, and the story tells about how he gets angry, and then you teach the child to shake their fists and shout the ah-ah sound. My daughter loved the little exercises, and there were certain ones she remembered right away and others that she could recall with prompting. We've been using this on-and-off as it appealed to her for a year now, and she often recognizes letters on a public sign or in a book and makes the sound and action totally unprompted. She will also grab the book and go through the pages on her own and make the sounds and actions. So much fun, and it's given her a big leap in learning to read.

This is the flip chart and the wonderful tool to aid children in the acquisition of early literacy...this is much needed in the Amazing Alphabet program...purchase this first and follow up with the companion tools/books...or do what I did...purchase them all!!!and have a fabulous time implementing this amazing program with children.I have been an early childhood educator for 38 years...and I know that I am never too old to learn...and to find another effective and fun way to teach my preschoolers and grandchildren. This is such fun!

As a preschool teacher, I had heard good things about the book and wanted to give it a try. I honestly never knew it would be this amazing! I teach 2 and 3 year olds. They are by no means expected to learn everything about a letter by the time they leave my class, but they are learning a lot more than I thought they would! My class knows the names and sounds of many letters, and I owe it all to this flip book! The stories are engaging, the sounds dead on, and the kids love interacting with them. They love it and have no idea they are learning! One of the kids has already figured out how this relates to reading and is so excited to figure out the sounds to words. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants their kids (or students) to learn the sounds of letters!

Ingenious! Love this! Using multiple senses to get the information to stick--brilliant. My daughter really enjoys reading through the Amazing Action Alphabet. She will repeat the animal sounds for fun--and she knows them all backwards and forwards now. I used a few of the letters when I was teaching our mothers' preschool group and the other kids paid close attention (no small task!). I highly recommend the audio CD (sold separately) as well; it lets kids listen along as much as they want without you having to read all 26 letters to them. It'll entertain and teach them for a half hour!

I love this technique to teach the sounds of letters! My 3 year old daughter has caught on to the sounds really easily and she remembers the sounds because of the actions this book puts with each letter. The value of the book is well worth the price!

Such a fun way to teach letter sounds. My son picked it right up after reading the stories to him.

Just okay. I was a little disappointed. My kids will listen to the stories but they aren't very engaging.

Love this book! I've been homeschooling for 5 years and added this book to my Pre-K curriculum for my 4 year old this year. When he is introduced to a new letter, I read the story for that letter from the book each day for a week. He enjoys acting out the stories and retains what he hears from the book. I will definitely continue using this book with my younger students.
