Flat, boring taste. Probably a blend rather than 100% Peaberry.
The listing for this item claims the coffee is 100% peaberry in several places. The bag itself notes that it is a Peaberry BLEND. Maybe their social media manager can sort it out for us.Anyway, the real reason for 2 stars is less to do with questionable labeling and more to do with the coffee itself. If it was good, I could look past it being a blend. For me, getting a good cup of coffee is getting what I paid for (though I would like my money's worth as far as honesty in advertising). But, it's not good, so let's move on.I'll start with a little about where I'm coming from so you can determine if you share my values with regard to coffee and if you will get anything out of a review of something that depends a lot on taste. I'm on the older end of middle aged, which means I've been drinking coffee a long time. I have a job that includes a lot of travel, so I've had exposure to lots of different styles of coffee and am open minded to what might be objectively good even if I don't like it. I own an SCAA certified drip machine - - we won't name names so that this review doesn't get too lost in the weeds, but the point is that I am aware of, and willing to pay for, the equipment to make good coffee. I also do pour over. I've used various other methods over the years but stopped them for one reason or another. I really like coffee and drink a lot of it, but I'm not a "coffee snob" per se. This is a review for pre-ground coffee after all, that I bought knowingly. I'll leave my coffee in the pot overnight and microwave it in the morning (if it was good coffee to begin with). How snobby can that really leave me? The review filter will probably block the review if I get too specific, but on a scale of worst coffee to best, I think the worst comes from a chain that rhymes with s'ucks, and the best is a concentrate coffee from the Netherlands -- often served in country clubs (and, oddly enough, vending machines in hospitals).OK, so on to the coffee itself:First, the grind. Just to get it out of the way. It's too fine. Basically espresso grind, bordering on Turkish even. Nearly flour. Too fine for drip or pour over. Predictably, it made a huge mess in my drip machine because it clogs the filter (I tried both a very good paper cone filter and permanent mesh). I saw the mess coming and tried to scale back the amount of coffee I was making, but it still plugged the filter and backed the grounds up into the shower. I don't see how you could even consider putting this in a French press unless you also like to drink your coffee "cowboy style". Pour-over was less messy because I could manually control the amount of water going in at any given time, but the resultant coffee was over-extracted because the water moved through so slow.As far as taste goes, it's very flat. A little over roasted, but not really a dark roast flavor. More like how that one major chain manages to make all their coffee taste burnt regardless of the roast - which is why I mentioned my aversion to the green giant up above. If you like that, it's fine. I'm here to judge the coffee, not you, dear reader. But if that is your jam, there's no point in paying up for this supposed Peaberry coffee.Anyway, there's no complexity to the flavor of this coffee at all. If I had to make a tasting note, I would say that from the drip machine it tasted faintly like tree bark with a hint of burnt coffee and straw. From pour over, it tasted like burnt coffee with a hint of tree bark. Nothing like any peaberry I've ever had before. Not fruity. Not sweet. It did have very mild acidity, and no bitterness which surprised me given how finely it was ground. The listing claims "extra caffeine," but no mg/mL statement is made. After several pots made several different ways, my personal reaction is that there is less caffeine in this bag of coffee than most. However, I'll leave final judgement on that for the scientists. In preparation for writing this review, I looked into this roaster and some of their other products. It looks like a bunch of space-age snake-oil to me. I'm not surprised, then, that after drinking this coffee I can't trust that it is 100% Peaberry as advertised. They have a very glossy online presence, which confirms my usual stereotype that so much gloss means either a manufacturer really knows what they're doing, or they really don't. In this case, I'd say it is the latter; at least with regard to making coffee. They seem to really know what they're doing in terms of selling. So in summary: bland, slightly burnt, over-ground, dubious origin, from a company with other dubious products.(Why the 2nd star? Well, it's not Starbucks, so it's got that going for it.)

Never disappointed! :)
I’ve been a big fan of the kimera nootropic both regular and dark for awhile now but this was the first time I tried the peaberry and once again kimera definitely does not disappoint. You can feel the difference in yourself as far as mood, function and energy compared to drinking regular coffee and we typically get coffee with a higher than normal level of caffeine. We’ve drank deathwish and mastermind and while I do like them both, the kimera is by far my favorite. I’ve used both the ground coffee and the k-cups and not only am I happy with the products and the results but the orders are always earlier then predicted. Today’s actually came in two days sooner then estimated even after having a pretty big snowfall. I would definitely recommend this coffee not just for the product but also for the fantastic way they do business. Thank you!! :)

DELICIOUS!!
I recently spent a wonderful week in the Dominican Republic and besides falling in love with the DR, I really fell in love with their coffee. I LOVE this coffee! It's very smooth, not bitter at all and I can taste just a hint of cocoa in it. It's so smooth in fact that I can drink it black and I do not normally drink my coffee that way! I highly recommend!

Very rich
This coffee is very rich. Makes a great expresso. Only downside to it is that it kind smells like tar while it’s brewing. That may be because I used to much grounds when I made a full pot but still. The actual taste of it is delicious though.

Love Peaberry Coffee
I love peaberry coffee from Puerto Rico, but it's hard to find. This is equally as good. Love the smooth, chocolatey flavor of this coffee. Will buy again.

It is not bitter which I like but still struggling
I struggle with coffee being too bitter. This is the first french press I have made that was not bitter and I have tried over half a dozen coffees.

LOVE THIS BLEND! Kimera has done it again
Kimera Koffee has done it again! I don’t know how I got through my work week before. This coffee is FRUITIER than their regular blend but still so smooth. I love also that there’s no artificial sweeteners in it the sweetness and fruitiness is natural.

Would not serve to guests
A disappointing coffee. I've had peaberry coffee before and this does not compare. It has a burnt, almost bland flavour. I would not serve this to guests. And I'm looking forward to finishing this quickly and not repurchasing. I do not recommend.
