Samate New Laptop Replacement Keyboard Compatible Apple MacBook Pro Unibody 15" A1286 (Mid 2009-Mid 2012)

I'm using it now to type this. Replacing keyboards in Mac laptops isn't for the for everyone. It is tedious work and requires patience, a methodical approach, and a delicate touch. But it can save you hundreds of dollars and save you from shipping your machine out for someone else to do it.The keys on this replacement seem slightly flimsier than the originals, and that's why I'm giving four stars instead of five. In the long run, they may well prove just as durable.

I gave it 4/5 stars because it isn't original quality. Apart from the it works great. If you've never replaced this and you dont have a knack for taking things apart and putting then back together, take it to a shop. This is a expert repair in my opinion. Took me 3 hours but I finally got it and it works as it should. I have 2011 mackbook pro 15

****Heads up, in order to install you must remove over 50 screws, but that is a Mac thing. ****It was a perfect match and worked for 1-year. With the length of time it takes to access, remove and install new keyboard I was hoping for a little longer than 1-year.Today is January 24th and the delete key no longer works. Unfortunately, the support for this keyboard ended January 17th.

Off the bat this product is great, worked well. The only problem I had was not with the product it was with amazon shipping. The people in their warehouse love to fold these things in half! The customer support was great though, and got me a new one ASAP.The install is not for the inexperienced. Roughly 72 screws to install. BUt if you are patient and have the correct tools this is a solid product.

First one I ordered arrived with one of the keys not attached, and it would not go back on. Replacement arrived intact, but after installing, I discovered that delete key only works 30% of the time unless you really mash it down. Overall, the keys have a difficult to describe, but slightly odd feel. I would not recommend this keyboard. Keep looking.

so this was a nice addition so I didn't have to deal with the backlight on a mac keyboard replacement job. works well and had no issues.

Buy it and you will get something different! So frustrating and waste of time, money, and efforts!

Ordered on Sunday, package came on Monday!Keyboard was the same as the original, no issues.

Not as crisp as the original, but good enough. All the keys work fine. They are not as level as they could be, but at least they work. I've tried other keyboard replacements before this one and I had lots of issue with keys getting stuck or not recording being pressed. So all things considered, this is seems to be one of the better keyboard replacements out there.
